Wedding dress colour

Any help gratefully accepted! Im getting married in 9 weeks. My hair hasn’t seen a hairdresser/ colour in 3 years. It’s more or less white with silvery white at the back. Any shade of white / cream dress looks awful. Grey dress seems miserable. I’m 65 and people do compliment my natural hair colour but that’s because I normally wear dark colours.
Should I colour it or just forget wearing a summer / light wedding dress?
What to do about it ?

Congratulations!

Unless you’re flying to some other climate, it’s unlikely to be all that summery in 9 weeks, surely?

I highly doubt you look awful in every pale shade - but I would suggest you visit a hairdresser (‘like yesterday’) to have a flattering cut. (I am assuming your hair is long enough to cut because you mentioned the hairdresser - obviously plenty of women can do without hairdressers.)

Do you have a dress? Or a dress in mind?

Again, obviously, you can choose any colour you like for your wedding. What would you like to wear?

I've got very fair hair and skin so I chose a white dress with navy trim - I loved it!
Saying that it was a big frock, but I'd definitely go with at least some colour if you're not enjoying the colour combination

What colours do you like? A pale pink could look lovely.

Would second going to the hairdresser for a good cut though!

I got married 20 years ago so was young (30) but still looked absolutely awful in white - I got married in a sage green ball dress from Monsoon - I thought it looked alright. Congratulations by the way!

Go for a colour! My friend wore a gorgeous cornflower blue to her wedding.

How about blue? Could be a pale shade if you're keen to go lighter (while avoiding white) but richer tones would also look gorgeous/summery without being too dark.

Colours … (The coral and the orange are from Net-a-Porter.)

A blush pink would look nice. Or a silver dress.

Oh thank you so much everybody! I was naturally dark haired at my first wedding so didn’t even think about colour then! I’m a bit busy right now but will give full attention to your generous and helpful posts later!

I would get a colour consultation. Red leopard do them in London or online. Then choose a dress in a stunning colour that really suits you.

I would just find a dress you love and go for it. I got married in October (I'm 53) and tried on so many dresses I thought I was never going to find anything suitable. In the end it helped for me to prioritise what I wanted and then find something that hinted at 'wedding' which also fitted that criteria. For me, that meant sleeves so I would not freeze if the weather was cold, natural materials as I hate synthetics, something that fits my body shape, something that doesn't need dry cleaning and something I can wear again for a special occasion. Regarding colour, I just wanted it to be lightish, but was open to a range of colours. I ended up with a hand washable silk long sleeved midi tea dress with quite a fitted shape in a peachy cream with a floral pattern. I don't usually wear floral patterned things but this one was a particularly nice vintage style print and I liked the colours. I think you need to kiss a lot of frogs in terms of dresses before you find 'the one', a bit like potential spouses! I spent way more than I had intended but I felt beautiful on the day!

Second marriage - winter wedding- I wore a Gina Bacconi deep copper beaded evening dress. It looked fabulous but perfectly suitable for a bride at the same time.
