Black tie event with 1920s style

I have a black tie event coming up in May.
Unfortunately it's a 1920s/Gatsby/flapper theme... in general flapper dresses don't suit me! Any ideas anyone? Please x

They would still have been wearing longer dresses, soft in flow, so not just the beaded versions. You could be daring, although probably 30's and wear a tuxedo like Marlene Dietrich, or go for a more bohemian vibe. Search on 1920s bohemian and that might suit better style wise.
