I want a pair of knee boots that will look nice with a 3/4 dress but that I can also wear with a shorter dress and maybe skinny jeans.

Stylish ladies of mumsnet, do you think these would fit the bill?

Much better. I'd get cheaper ones in leather not suede. M&S is usually good for footwear, otherwise I'd try show manufacturers like Clark's

Thanks @KirstenBlest they're better value but I wonder if the heel is too high for me? I'm on my feet a lot in work. I read in the comments that the suede aren't lined which is making me think twice about them.

If you are on your feet a lot, I'd get something fairly flat or a low heel
