I think I like the distressed patent best, but not sure if patent is too child-like?

DS says the plain Matt black.

Cherry red in next post, I hope.

Thoughts please!

Matt black or the red, I agree the patent are a bit too shiny. I have matt black in my DMs collection, they are timeless. Been wearing the same pair for over 11 years now, I love them.

Thank you @SquashPenguin

Are they hard to break in?

Matt ! No likey patent.. I had to sell my platform ones as they were sooo heavy to walk in

aibutohavethisusername · 26/02/2023 17:17

Cherry red

LuckyCharm9 · 26/02/2023 17:33

The pascal are the soft leather ones, way easier to break in.
I have the 1460 originals in black, get some silicone heel protectors and wear them whilst you have the docs on. They take a while to break in but once they are, they are so comfy.

Purplecatshopaholic · 26/02/2023 17:44

Red ones are awesome. I have a few pairs and they take significant breaking in - I wear them short distances and round the house (and go out with comped plasters in my bag!)

Changingplace · 26/02/2023 17:49

I have the pascal, they are super soft leather and didn’t need breaking in at all.

Love the cherry red too though, had them when I was a teenager but I remember even now they were a bugger to break in.

Isthisbatcountry · 26/02/2023 17:51

I have the pascal ones, super easy to break in because the leather is soft. My daughter has the patent ones and she struggles with them 12 months later. The blisters were awful!

I won’t lie- DMs are agony to break in. The only ones I have that didn’t hurt are the fluffy lined Chelsea boots, no idea why they were different! The platform boots hurt, the shoes hurt, the sandals hurt- but perseverance is everything! Just don’t wear them anywhere for a long time at first. One of my black pairs took two years before they were comfy, but now I wear them nearly every day!

OopsItsAPony · 26/02/2023 19:08

Do not buy the patent, they are impossible to break in and will be painful until you finally give up and get rid of them.

anothernamechange2244679 · 26/02/2023 19:45

I love my patent ones, I also have the Matt black ones with white stitching that I love. Neither needed breaking in

KirstenBlest · 26/02/2023 20:29

I have these derby boots

dudsville · 26/02/2023 20:33

The pascal is the version that don't require breaking in. I also think the leather is better. I loathe that little band of binding at the top of the other pairs, to my eye it cheapens the look.
