Woody perfume recommendations

Hello! Can anybody recommend a more affordable fragrance for me? I tend to wear Chanel Bois Des Iles everyday but also like Diptyque Philosykos and Tam Dao. I like more unisex fragrances that are woody and clean, not too floral/ vanilla/ patchouli smells.

All of the perfumes I’ve liked are crazy expensive and I need a more affordable scent. TIA.

I find clarins is quite woody but only problem is that it doesn't last!!

Not a specific fragrance, but I recommend the brand Parfums de Nicolaï. Exceptional quality and very affordable. Patricia de Nicolaï is g-grandaughter of Pierre Guerlain. She started her own company because her family would not admit women.

Do you mean clarins eau dynamisante? It always disappears in seconds on me.

Thank you, they look great. They are still quite pricey ( €165/ 100ml) and more expensive than Diptyque.

I came to say Penhaligons Halfeti which is spicy, warm woody, but not cheap by any means Sad

Noir, by the White Company might be worth trying - I tested it recently, and liked it, and it lasted well.
Notes of amber, mandarin and sandalwood, like your Chanel, and a bargain £30.
They also have a new Sea Salt fragrance I want to try - sounds clean and fresh with cedarwood.

Oh, sorry. Still worth considering IMO. They are strong, old-school style perfumes. A little goes a very long way. Especially her 'Intense' versions. I only ever buy 30ml and a bottle lasts several months, easily. I spray more lightly with PDN.

I started off with The Discovery Kit which was nice, £34 for 14 samples. Easily provided about 14 sprays ea. Included New York Intense (£60) which seems to be one of her more popular fragrances (and my first purchase). I think you might like NYI actually. Quite masculine though.

So many recommendations on this channel, normally has discount codes too.

Wood sage and sea salt from Jo Malone is lovely but not long lasting. Bal d’afrique by Byredo is very unisex and lovely

AllWorkYoPlait · 26/02/2023 14:56

Have you had a look in M&S? They have quite a large fragrance range - there's bound to be something woodsy.

Chevyimpala67 · 26/02/2023 15:06

Maison margeila replica by the fireplace

ALittleBitAhAh · 26/02/2023 15:11

Check out Shay and Blue. I lean towards their fruitier scents - but they have at least a couple that have 'woody' as a descriptor.

EvelynBeatrice · 26/02/2023 15:13

Origins L’Eclat is a very woody ‘pencil shavings’ type of fragrance. Can be used as base for other things, but lovely on own.. Next Enchantment is woody oriental with more depth. Very different on different people - Enchantment is woody and complex on me, but smells like sour tea on a friend.

monomatapea · 26/02/2023 15:16

Killian angels share is boozy woody

Sobekneferu · 26/02/2023 15:19

Montale are quite good, at around the £70 mark for a full bottle, there is a comprehensive wood category on their website and they do samples

If you can believe it, the M and S Ease fragrance from their apothecary range is really nice and woody - 9.50!!

lalaloopsy83 · 26/02/2023 15:27

Eternity by Calvin klein?

WandaWomblesaurus · 26/02/2023 15:36

Have a look on Basenotes or Fragrantia for suggestions based around what you normally like and you'll definitely find some cheaper options. Some of the new M&S fragrances are beautiful- especially the men's ones!

BobGalaxy · 26/02/2023 15:45

I got this in a tester box (you could get 4 in a box and just pay p&p but they don't seem to do it anymore) www.abbeyperfumery.co.uk/collections/perfume/products/woods-of-oz
Very woody and peppery.

Hoolihan · 26/02/2023 15:45

Ebony Wood by Jo Loves at Zara. £25 for 90ml, I can't recommend this enough! It's designed by Jo Malone and it's so fab, always get loads of compliments. Very woody/heady, more wintery/night out than day wear (for me at least!).

Would also second the pp that M&S perfumes are good and very affordable, I have the Spiced Amber and the Bergamot & Cedarwood, both great, cologne type fragrances and less than a tenner!

Lidlfix · 26/02/2023 15:46

Second the Ebony Wood, every time I wear it it (and it's my work cheapie) I get asked about it.

Blingstar · 26/02/2023 15:56

Try Korres fragrances. Very reasonably priced and long lasting.

CinnamonJellyBeans · 26/02/2023 17:29

Miller Harris have a lot of woody ones. I recommend scherzo, which is a good alternative to Halfeti. They also do a great sample service.
