Really interested in the the new GHD wet to dry styler. Has anyone tried it? Very expensive at £380 but does look good.

I did my daughters hair last Wednesday and it's still in the same style! I didn't write on here as I thought I was starting to look like I have shares or something with ghd or some kind of youtube influencer, I can assure you I am not an influencer nor am I easily influenced. I can't stand all these so called influencers, i don't use instagram or any other social media.
I can tell you I do certainly recommend the duet, it's completely changed my hair and my styling routine

@MaskedFan can you explain how you use it? How much time on dry function and how much on the straightener?

MaskedFan · 06/03/2023 21:38

I section the hair off a layer at a time, it's roughly 5 layers and 5 or 6 sections in each layer, it takes around 20 minutes. Will be different depending on hair type. I use it on the dry function only but I always do my hair in the evening before bed. Then in the morning I use the shine shot (straightener function) which takes 10 minutes. That then lasts 3-4 days. You could use it however you wanted though, the shine shot can be used after the dry function or you could skip the shine shot and just use it for special occasions. The dry function styles the hair

I think I must have the shit hair mentioned earlier on the thread, the dry function alone got me a triangle of straw like hair. Was hoping if I spent time using the straightening function it might make me presentable but maybe not.

Ooo so glad I found this thread, although I've already bought it and it looks like the jury is still out on whether it's good or not 😐. I wasn't going to try it until next month as it's a birthday present (from me to me 😊) but I promise I will report back...

But can I ask - did anyone order it directly from GHD? It arrived yesterday and I'm a tiny bit worried that it's a returned one. The box came inside a plastic bag, but wasn't sealed - is that normal? They also didn't send the shine spray which hI ordered so I have to follow up on that anyway...

Yeah mine came the same, I ordered direct from ghd. I was disappointed with how it arrived but I'm over it now. Think I expected bells and whistles for the price and because my hairdryer and straighteners came in a beautiful box but that was a package deal. Hope you enjoy your duet, maybe trial it a few times in the next week as ghd offer a 21 day no quibble return

I’ve used one and what I don’t understand is the shine straightener function. It only has two very narrow plates, so you are straightening the edges of each section but not the middle. I couldn’t really get the hang of it.

You slide it down your hair so no hair is missed
