Hello Mumsnet, can you tell me what you think of this outfit? Just a weekend casual that's a bit different. Please be honest. I'm 40 if that makes a difference.

I think it's great. Please don't get it and then wear them separately - hold your nerve. The worst that'll happen is you will look back and have a good laugh.

Drop the matron shoes and style it out with the fancy boots. That turns it 8th an outfit rather than glam loungewear.

I don’t like it but it’s more that I don’t do print. I love seeing adventurous outfits though since the majority of dressers are very safe and conservative. Lean into it….. I’d clash with coloured trainers or metallic boots but that’s just me. “Essential Antwerp” are a good source if you fancy some colourful inspiration. Have fun!!! 🤩

For the sane money I bet you could find something much nicer - sorry.

You have a great figure. This is more like old folks home than granny chic - I think the pop socks and side split finished me off.

For anyone interested updated pic with the boots. I'm sure I'd question this outfit myself if I saw it in the street. It might be a rebellion of some sort on my part but I feel brave and funky and feck it!

Sorry those shoes are absolutely wrong for that outfit. You look like you've pit your slippers on to take the bins out.

Shoes-wise you need a boot with a bit of a heel even if a low block, or platformish sandals/mary Janes or mules.

It's a statement outfit so you have to commit to it a bit and wear it with confidence.

But the updated pic with the boots looks fantastic! Go for it - you definitely have the figure to carry it off!

Have totally changed my mind. You can totally carry off the whole outfit and it looks great with the boots. How about shoes like the model has or a pair of creepers if you don't always want a heel. I love adventurous dressing on others and am all for it. Think was making safe suggestion. Have fun with it

In 2nd picture, you look amazing. The boots look great with it too. There was something about the first picture that wasn’t quite right. Maybe it was just a funny angle.
