Summer jacket.

For the last couple of years, I've unsuccessfully been looking for the perfect summer jacket to travel in. The lighter jackets I use at home, my favourite is black but I would never wear black abroad. Another two are linen, not what I'm looking for to travel in. I'm too old for a denim jacket, though I've seen some quite nice ones in summer colours. Likewise, I don't wear blazer-style jackets. I ideally want something smart for the airport but can be carried in my daysac. Over to you, MN!

Majestic Filatures do lovely minimalist summer jackets in the softest imaginable viscose/elastane jersey or linen jersey. They're very lightweight and would fold up easily in a backpack. Their standard style might be too blazer-like for you, but they also do a few other styles. I'm not sure what age is too old for a denim jacket. My mother has one in a chore jacket style.
I wear a trucker style denim jacket when travelling because I like it and because of the many pockets.

Whilst I agree that there is no such thing as too old I do understand that denim jackets might not work for you, they no longer seem to work for me.

it sounds like a subtle difference but I wear a denim shacket for travelling. E.g. last year I wore it open over a V neck cotton T and some linen mix “joggers”. Similar to this one… as it’s just a good weight denim shirt.
