Have received an invite to a wedding early spring. Never mind myself, as I 'have nothing to wear', I have to think about my 13yo DD, who absolutely hates to wear anything else but jeans and trainers at the moment.
I am lost what to buy her. Has to have short sleeves, be above the knee and plain, not flowery.
We will be just guests, but the wedding is a bit 'posh'- can't turn up in jeans.
Also, she is very tall for her age 5'7. Size 10, sometimes can get away with 15yo teen clothes.
What shoes?
Please please help me with some ideas, as I am desperate!

Who has specified the short sleeves/above the knee?

Are trousers not an option?

New Look may be a good starting point?

If trousers are an option? I’d suggest black trousers of a similar cut to the jeans she is used to - in my dd’s case wide legged. Or slimmer ones if she prefers?
With an ironed shirt? Smart trainers or if trainers are not an option then school shoes/plain black shoes?

Why above knee?

If you can wriggle out of that one I'd say wide leg trousers are comfortable and fashionable. Urban Outfitters have a good selection from formal to very lightweight. Beige/brown/grey teamed with a white top might work. My DD would probably go low-rise and extra-wide on the trousers and pair them with a fitted top and flat platform sandals.

Above the knee dress as she hates longer one- you should see how short she rolls up her school skirt! Grin

Madame, I really like that dress from Next. Will show it to her.
Like other suggestions, too.
Thanks

My 13 year old DSD is really trendy and usually wears jeans/leggings/cargos trainers so I’d struggle with what she’d wear for a wedding too. If she has to get dressed up, it tends to be short/tight dresses from shien, SilkFred, PLT and the like and she looks nice in them because she is tall and slim. Shoes are very difficult, normally her and her friends wear high top converse or Jordan’s with the short dresses which looks great and is so practical but no good for a posh wedding I guess, what about the ‘barely there’ type sandals with the strap across the foot and around the ankle that the influencers wear?

Ah I get it!

Does she prefer fitted or loose clothes and is her style mainstream or more alternative?
