Baukjen - worth it?

I'm looking for a navy sweatshirt for the spring and like the look of the ones on the Baukjen website, but £75 is a lot of money for a sweatshirt even with 20% off! I know they have great eco credentials and often like the look of their things, but can never quite stretch to the price. Interested to hear from Baukjen shoppers, does the quality justify the price? Thanks Smile

Not in my opinion, in all honesty. I've purchased a few items from them but haven't in a while due to cost v value.

I love it. Also happy to pay extra for company with ethical credentials.

GatherlyGal · 20/02/2023 20:28

I've bought 2 things and neither has lasted. Really disappointing for the price.

LizzieSiddal · 20/02/2023 20:44

I’ve bought several pieces from them and there I’ve been really impressed.

BHRK · 20/02/2023 20:45

I like their clothes and the quality

harrysbeard · 20/02/2023 20:45

I have bought loads but with an NHS discount (they were doing 40% off now 25%) and even then winced at the price of some things.
Their Bretons have been amazing and very thick and high quality- other stuff less so. The sweatshirts have also washed well. I didn't like the denim. The viscose shrinks- I think they call it Lenzing Ecovera?
What I would say is that returns are a total PITA- Evri drop off and have never had a refund within a month! Really puts me off ordering something I'm not entirely sure of.

I bought a few things with a discount code once and they were lovely but it’s a bit out of my price range and I’ve never bought anything since.

MsDastardley · 20/02/2023 20:56

I’ve bought a lot off them, and found the quality to be very good. I do find a lot of their stuff a bit dull at the moment as they tend to repeat the same styles. I don’t like the ditzy print dresses. I never pay full price though, I get NHS discount, or buy in sale.

Wouldn’t recommend recycled knitwear btw. I’ve had a couple of jumpers and they feel as all the life has been taken out of them.

Returns used yo be terrible, but have improved recently. Wish they wouldn’t use Evri.

I have been a regular Baukjen customer for years and would say the quality is generally very good. I have tops and trousers that are still going after getting on for 10 years. It's true that sometimes the lower priced items are maybe not quite as good but I still rate it.

What had put me off recently was the returns being very slow . I am encouraged to read maybe that has improved more recently .

harrysbeard · 26/02/2023 09:15

I'm still waiting on a return I sent back three weeks ago. So no improvement that I can see. It really is an issue and puts customers off.

Walkingtheplank · 26/02/2023 10:05

I have 3 tops which sit well on me. The first 2 took forever to arrive. The 3rd I bought in a John Lewis.
Having heard how slow they are to refund returns, I would only buy in store.

harrysbeard · 07/03/2023 21:04

Still waiting notification of a refund from Baukjen.
It's so disappointing.

chartreuseabuse · 07/03/2023 21:24

The pieces I have are great quality and wash really well.

VenusClapTrap · 07/03/2023 22:21

I’ve had a couple of things from them and been happy with the quality. I’m happy to pay extra for sustainability/ethics. Their models annoy me for some reason though.
