Hermes scarf - any help please

I know this is first world problem ....

My family have gathered to buy me a Hermes scarf, a book on how to tie it, and a Hermes scarf ring,

I have to be reasonably smart for work, but last time I tried a scarf I looked like cabin crew, and not in a smart way.

Any cool tips on how to wear it without it aging me? Thanks

I have about a dozen of them. I tend to go with the "cabin crew" look. Or a sort of Western movie style knotted at back of neck.

The scarves are so beautiful I'm just happy they're on display and I can see them.

There used to be a woman on YouTube who did fabulous scarf tying tutorials. I'll see if I can find it for you. So many of them were not cabin crew looking!

I love large silk squares. Never used a ring though.
My current way to wear one:
Fold once into a triangle.
With the scarf in front of you, take both long ends, cross over behind neck and bring the two ends to front, over the bit in front of your neck.
Knot twice to secure. Let the ends dangle down.

This wasn't the one I was looking for, but near enough. Sorry about the music!

You can also find tutorials on Instagram. They could forfeit the scarf ring and the book and put the money towards a bigger size scarf. I find their bigger size more modern and versatile.

Tutorial here- it's not specific to Hermés but will work with Hermés.

It's very informative (although the presenter is so elegant she could be teaching you how to wear a bin bag)

I love Hermes scarves. I've only got one atm as sold some of mine on in a Hermes page on fb.

I buy twillys which are the skinny scarf version of the squares. I mostly use them for trying around the handles of my handbags as I've never been able to quite pull off a scarf around my neck.

Number one I look like cabin crew and number two I'm a bit fat with not much of a neck.

I agree with pp and think you'd be better off foregoing the book and the scarf ring and just get a larger square scarf from Hermes.

Exciting though op, happy shopping, they have some beautiful designs!

Re larger scarves the 90×90 is the most popular and quite easy to wear. If you're not a regular silk scarf wearer the larger size might be daunting. If they haven't bought the book or scarf ring maybe get a bottle of 24 Faubourg perfume?

Years ago I found one in a charity shop for £5. I had it framed.

Oh God not tied to the handbag 😅
