Spf for face

Hello everyone. I'm looking for an spf 50 for my face. I had a brilliant yves rocher one but it's discontinued. It's the only one I found that doesn't make me break out. What works for you?
For info, I'm 45 and my skin is normal but pale. I don't want a tinted one as it just looks weird on me
Thanks

This www.boots.com/ambre-solaire-ultra-light-sensitive-face-fluid-spf50plus-40ml-10274049 They also do a cream version in a tube.

Sali hughes did some reviews in the guardian.

I've used the anti helios age protect one which was good but for the last few years I've mainly used this during winter and spring.

Love love this. Make up goes on great after too. Excellent price point

This is good, doesn't smell like sun cream!

BooCrew · 20/02/2023 12:35

I would love to find one that doesn't give me acne. Any recommendations welcome! I know I should use SPF every day, but it's very hard (actually impossible) to make myself in winter/early spring when I know putting on SPF will give me spots.

My skin is fairly oily, very acne-prone around my jawline. Only other thing that affects it is sugar.

Has anyone tried the Ultra Violette range? I can feel myself getting sucked in by their cool marketing.

missmoon · 20/02/2023 12:57

I also have this issue, and Kiehl's ultra light aqua gel works for me, with no breakouts or rashes, it's expensive though: www.kiehls.co.uk/skin-care/category/sun-care/ultra-light-daily-uv-defense-aqua-gel-spf-50-pa----/WW0081KIE.html

missmoon · 20/02/2023 12:57

Someone on here recommended it!

RosieRainbowfluff · 20/02/2023 13:13

I use this.. really nice to wear, not greasy and doesn't smell of suncream!

Do you want mineral or chemical spf?

@BooCrew its chemical ones that break me out so you could try mineral?

I like the Dr Sam Bunting mineral gossamer one- I get the tinted one but it’s impossible to put on badly and you can still see my freckles through it so it functions as if it isn’t…

krystlecarr · 20/02/2023 13:18

ultrasun antipigmentation is good

Polly1974 · 20/02/2023 13:20

Nivea sun shine control doesn't smell like suncream, has SPF 50 snd goes on just like regular moisturiser.

Pigtailsandall · 20/02/2023 13:26

Caudalie has a wonderful one with great sun protection (I'm very pale) and it absorbs fast. It's a bit scented though, so check you're ok with the scent before buying

Bigpinktrain · 20/02/2023 13:30

A make up artist friend of mine recommended drunk elephant for daily use;

www.boots.com/drunk-elephant-umbra-sheer-physical-daily-defense-spf-30-90ml--10294853

its £30 but has lasted me about 16 weeks!

Tillytess · 20/02/2023 13:32

I have been using this lately
www.boots.com/bondi-sands-spf-50-fragrance-free-hydrating-tinted-face-lotion-75ml-10322403
Slight and subtle tint so no white emulsion cast that you can get with some sunscreens. Leaves a nice dewy light finish, good on its own or under make up. Reasonably priced.

Ifeellikeateenageragain · 20/02/2023 13:53

My skin has gone bonkers (dry but also red bumpy, acne) but when I use Nux melting cream every day as my sun cream my skin cleans up

CoconutAmericano · 20/02/2023 14:13

I really like the la Roche posay uv mune 400 cream for my face.

BeaLola · 20/02/2023 23:07

HamFrancisco · 20/02/2023 12:54

Yes I bought the Supreme Screen SPF50 last year and really like it - goes on well , no caste and have worn on own or under make up
I prefer it to the La Roche Posay that I have tried or Ultra Sun

I have also used Erborian one - can't recall at mo which one but liked that too although was slightly tinted

Fancyateapottea · 21/02/2023 09:57

I also recommend the Garnier one. You can usually pick it up for about £6 and I find it doesn’t irritate my skin and make-up sits nicely over it. I’ve tried hello farmer (lovely but brought me out in spots) and LRP anthelios (not quite as good as the Garnier one and more ££s)

Blueberrywitch · 21/02/2023 09:59

This is the only sunscreen that doesn’t give me acne. Avene is great www.avene.co.uk/p/spf-50-fluid-3282770149074-b5405ca4

HamFrancisco · 21/02/2023 10:10

I watched the Dr Sam Bunting video of her applying sunscreen and it didn't seem to sink in at all, she was rubbing it round her face for what felt like an eternity and it still looked white afterwards.
