I have a triangle head... help

In September I had my nearly waist length hair cut to a bob/lob. It's an inch or so above my shoulders
In hindsight it was not the best idea.
It's slightly longer at the front with a long side fringe. It's ok but not particularly flattering, however my main problem is my hair is not dead straight but has a slight wave and cowslick at the parting, and the slightest hint of damp... pooof... enormous triangle head .
If I straighten it and stay indoors it looks much better ...but that's not an option!
You lot recently persuaded me out of colouring my many-shades-of grey/brown hair (good move..I got some silver hair stuff and it looks better) but now I'm contemplating my next cut... I wouldn't mind going shorter but don't want to turn into my Dad (I'm tall skinny and haggard!)

What cuts work on hair that is wavy, and goes massive at the slightest hint of damp? I could grow it again but tbh I've had 5 years of long hair!

I have had traingle head for years. Very very thick wavy hair that I tried to wear in a straight bob. It turns out (via the curly girl method and a good hairdresser putting in long layers) that my hair is naturally curly. And now sits much better. Could your hair be curly too?

Ps this is not me. But this is the kind of shape I mean before and after

I'd kill for that hair! (and face!!!) Yes mine is similar at that length, probably not quite as wavy (it used to be but I haven't left it 'natural' for years so no idea)

Perhaps I need to grow it for a few months more and ask for long layers?

Layers, lovely. My hair is as you describe yours and when it starts looking like a triangle I know I'm well overdue for a hair cut.

Layers are forgiving of my waves and my irritating cow lick.

I'm envious. My hair is also naturally curlyish but I've had no luck with cgm so I'm back to managing waves lol

If your head is an isosceles or equilateral shaped you should be OK.
However if it is scalene then its probably best to hold your phone permanently against an ear and pretend you're talking, that way it will look more symmetrical.
