Philips Lumea Vs Diode Laser

I recently had a consultation for Diode laser, £60 for underarm hair per session. I would want my legs done also its £150 for each session. I would need up to 8 sessions on each(she said could be less but they say 6 to 8 to permanently remove the hair from the follicle. This would be approx £1680.

I have been looking at the Philips one online and thought about doing it myself, but what are the results like? Has anyone used it? What's the upkeep like?

I have a disabled child so shaving is difficult as come evening I'm exhausted and all I do is shower, I also have sensitive skin on my legs so shaving is left as it get really bad rashes and bumps. I want the hair permanently removed and not have the worry.

I had professional laser on my face and use a lumea for my body and have similar sensitive skin and hate shaving.

The laser results are more permanent IME, but lumea is plenty good enough, it didn't work much on my armpits though but that may just be down to me and it being a tricky area. The shaving is annoying, you can also epilate iirc but it'll require more sessions, I think. But the shaving becomes less annoying after the second or third session as you lose the most hairs in those sessions so it really isn't much left to irritate. Would also recommend using either condioner or a cleansing oil to shave with and you can go in the direction of the hair to limit irritation, not a great job if you want a closely shaved finish but fine for Lumea purposes.
