1: if your Autumn and Winter wardrobe essentially revolves around black polo necks, what is your Spring equivalent?
2: if you wanted to wear trainers not white) with a midi skirt in February, would you go bare legged, nude tights, black tights or fishnets?
3: if your skin feels all itchy and tight when you wake up, what product would you be looking for?
4: what top (casual) would you wear with wide leg black trousers and trainers?
5: if you’re getting too old/dry skinned for Double Wear, what have you replaced it with?
6: if you wanted a casual black midi skirt or a leopard print midi skirt where might you look?

Any thoughts on any of the above much appreciated! 😂🤪

  1. Either navy blue or black short sleeved round necked wool top.
  2. No I would never do this. I'd wear leather flats with v sheer nude tights. 8 or 9 denier.
  3. What are you washing your clothes with? Change to non-bio. Also use a non-scented moisturiser before bed. eg diprobase.
  4. Striped?
  5. Chanel Sublimage
  6. Ebay!

I am not aure on some of the answers but for the polo neck one i would suggest a thin turtle neck body, no sleeve or short sleeve. Would also work for the wide leg trouser. Trainers i would go bare legged myself if the trainers were dark maybe plain black tights. Fishnets sound nice to not sure as won't go with all patterns/colours of skirts so hard to say without seeing the outfit

Hush for skirts

  1. Probably a long sleeve Breton for me. Maybe a fine merino top/jumper in plain colour
  2. Thick tights or leggings, it's still winter!
  3. Changing laundry products, turn the heat down?
  4. See 1.
  5. Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser
  6. eBay, per PP
Snoopsnoggysnog · 19/02/2023 09:27

4 - I’ve been wearing a black Zara knit with mine

Funkyslippers · 19/02/2023 09:28

Only 2 apply to me.

  1. Black tights. I wore white trainers and nude tights with my dress recently but saw a lady wearing black tights and black trainers
  2. I'd wear a tight top of some kind to offset the looseness of the trousers
KatRee · 19/02/2023 09:38
  1. Lancôme Teint Idole
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/02/2023 09:38

Thanks for all of these. I would never have thought of a sleeveless turtleneck or a knitted T-shirt so will start by looking at Cos and Arket for those.

With regards to number one: any ideas where I might find a black cotton Breton-esque top with thin white stripes?

  1. white t shirts if warm enough or long sleeved white or striped top
  2. Depends on trainer colour I think 🤔 but I have some black new balance that I wear with black tights.
  3. I’d look at your evening skin routine and maybe add some hydrating Korean toner like this (you can do several layers) then a rich moisturiser like weleda skin food. Maybe an oil layered over the top - doesn’t need to be expensive, I like this.
  4. I’d wear a fine knit jumper or a button up top like this. Something fitted and not too long to balance the wider leg.
  5. I like revlon colourstay foundation in the dry skin version (if you want a long lasting foundation). I just use a really thin layer as I get older.
  6. Nobody’s child have a couple in black that I like or dancing leopard have a couple of sort of leopard-y/ abstract options.
dudsville · 19/02/2023 09:41

If you like double wear then try adding a couple of drops of face oil to it.

If you're waking with dry itchy skin we need to know the current regime

Workawayxx · 19/02/2023 09:44

I just saw someone on another thread suggest cropped leggings under a midi with trainers 🤔. I feel like I’d have cold ankles but I’m quite a cold person so it could work!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/02/2023 09:45

Current regime is Holland and Barrett Vitaskin range. I really like it usually.

I think I’d rather go with nude tights tbh - warm ankles and a less hot crotch than in leggings!

If you are looking for Breton tops can highly recommend

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/02/2023 10:25

Just remembered that I used a freebie Clinique face wash for the first time yesterday. Maybe that’s what made my face sore this morning? I’ve put a tiny bit of Skin Food on, but don’t really like it on my face.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/02/2023 11:01

They’re nice @Timeandtune but I can’t see a black one.

OP posts:
Timeandtune · 19/02/2023 11:03

I am sure they do black and green and red. Really good quality and fit.

isthismylifenow · 19/02/2023 11:12

I used to use DW but now use Elizabeth Arden Flawless finish foundation for everyday..

I do also have a Revlon Colourstay Full Cover which I think is quite similar to DW. It's in the brown and black tube. I like this if going out as it's more full coverage than FF.

Ontheboard · 19/02/2023 11:32

Really like this multi question approach - very efficient!

  1. A body like this from Sézane , in either black or white
  2. I tend to wear boots - chunky heeled - rather than trainers at this time of year so can’t help you there
  3. Not sure if it’s face or body that’s the problem. For face, use a balm cleanser, like Clinique Take the Day Off. For body, was with a shower oil rather than a stripping foaming shower gel and use a rich body moisturiser after
  4. I like a wearing a light cotton shirt, like the Sézane Pierro with wide leg trousers in spring / summer. Or a tight high neck vest top. I used to love a Breton but they no longer seem to work for me anymore
  5. Tinted moisturiser - I like the Laura Mercier one - with concealer on the areas that need more coverage. I love the Nars radiant concealer for this
  6. Sézane have some nice midis at the moment (I’ve spent some time on their website today, hence all the recommendations from this brand! But I am quite a fan anyway).

I’ll have another look. I was in my phone- and missed my stop on the train because of looking. Oops!

I wear a navy round neck cashmere jumper in answer to point one.
