Do seasonal sales tend to happen at this time of year?

DS10 has outgrown his clothes and has asked to go shopping, but I have a vague feeling that shops tend to have sales in the spring. Is that right? I’d rather wait a few weeks if that’s the case, rather than pay full price now.

He likes H&M and Zara, I like to check if Arket and Polarn O Pyret have anything affordable too. (RIP Cos Kids while we’re on the subject.)

Some shops offer discounts and promotions at various points during the year. To receive notice of these, sign up to the brand's website. Also, Zara has a website section called special prices for discounted items. Easter is often a good time for a flash sale or promotion, so maybe that's what you're thinking of.

With regards to sales, they happen in the summer and winter, although the timings of these vary - summer sales can start as early as mid-May, and winter sales at the end of November.

There are always discounts somewhere. Check also on the websites that sell off last season's/end of ranges. I'd been pondering a puffa jackets from M&S in November £50 ish- got it from Zalando for £24 this week. It didn't go that low on their own website.

Vinted is your friend

There’s often a scramble for sales as the financial year is ending.

Cheers all. Didn’t know that Zalando was a discount site, have never shopped there. Have never been on Vinted either, usually use eBay. Maybe the end of the financial year is what I was thinking about! Off to check stuff out.

I know next has a sale starting Saturday 25th March as my friend works there and she's moaning she has to go in early at 6am 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣 so maybe others will have a spring sale to clear any leftover winter bits before the summer stuff comes in to stock
