Argh Does it HAVE to button up...

Bought a lovely coat, one size fits all over but won't button up due to my big boobs. 2nd size up I swear is wrong as its tighter than the 1st so I'll be returning tmw and trying to source another which might be more correct. But if I can't find another one, should I just keep the first and not button up. TBH I never button my coats anyway...but there is always the option!

Trinny and Susannah used to say get the coat to fit the shoulders and if it doesn’t fasten get a big scarf.

I have plenty of coats/jackets that don't button up. I don't really know why as my boobs are very average sized but there must be something odd about my body shape.

I suspect a bigger coat will be longer on the sleeves for me but will hopefully fit my bust.

I was going to quote Trinny and Susannah too 😁 If it's a good fit elsewhere and you love it, wear a scarf. I have huge boobs and it's what I do, otherwise I'd never wear nice coats.

As a short person sleeves are always long. Could you get the next size up so you can do it up and have the sleeves altered? Or could they be folded over/ back?

Get the shoulders and back tight. Side seams not doing anything weird at the hip and lying at your sides? Then don't worry about the boobs. Leave it open.

If you buy too small across back/shoulders and it hip it will look bad. If the coat fits these places it will look fine
