Then what shoes do you wear to work? If you have an office style job. I like to look smart at work but all shoes that aren’t trainers hurt my feet so much!

I've just bought some Rieker and Marco Tozzi boots, both have good heel height (ie not flat but not tottering either), cushioning and arch support which makes a huge difference to me. I've not tried their shoes though.

It's also worth checking out things like insoles, gel heel cups and KT taping which can all help with normal shoes.

Squirrelsnut · 18/02/2023 18:38

They aren't very cool but have a look at Pavers. Actually, some of their styles are pretty nice.

Phineyj · 18/02/2023 18:41

I've worn Hotter Jewel pumps for years. Unfortunately they no longer do them (I have 5 pairs though...) Definitely try Hotter.

selfishjeanss · 18/02/2023 18:42

Birkenstock boots have been incredible for me, ( currently Melrose and Stallon). I teach, so am on my feet a lot. I was suffering with so much ankle pain previously.

spanieleyes · 18/02/2023 18:43

Birkenstocks for me too, boots, shoes and sandals for year round wear!

lindyloo6 · 18/02/2023 18:44

Try Vionic footwear, amazing

mobear · 18/02/2023 18:45

FitFlops Allegro Ballet Pumps.

ShandaLear · 18/02/2023 18:54

When I had PF I wore FlyFlot when I could get away with it. They are absolutely not cool but oh my word they felt great. Might go and look at them again.

PAVERS , I have had it for nearly a year, it just drives me mad

I've had it for 15...

handsoffate · 18/02/2023 19:13

I’ve only recently developed it, but anything with a medium heel is less painful for me than flat shoes. So I’m living in wedge boots and sandals. I’ve tried Vionic trainers but the arch support is in the wrong place. I’ve also got wide feet and a high instep, so finding anything suitable is hard work.

overjean · 18/02/2023 19:17

I've just developed PF. Booked to see a podiatrist at the end of next week. Is it not curable?!

NoMoneyForEducation · 18/02/2023 19:19

I had PF about 10 years ago. Went as soon as my underactive thyroid was treated.

Came back about 2 years ago..mixed in with some achilles tendonitist...went as soon as started HRT.....

Oestrogen and tendons v closely linked.

If you could have something else happening (thryoid/peri) it maybe worth getting that sorted.......

BloodyfeckinDpD · 18/02/2023 19:20

@selfishjeanss and @spanieleyes how wide are Birkenstocks? I have such wide feet. I worry about shoes that don’t have much ‘give’ as they cause more problems than they solve for me.

Nanalisa60 · 18/02/2023 19:21

ladymacbeth

is that 15 years or months ? I was hopping it just might just go as quick as it arrived.

wearing lifts in all my boots and trainers.

Snoopystick · 18/02/2023 19:23

Fly boots are very comfortable if you can wear boots. Reiker sandals are great, not tried the shoes.

15 years. Sometimes it gets milder for a few months, but never goes

Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels · 18/02/2023 19:28

No footwear advice as I lived in trainers with it but I had shockwave therapy and mine healed within a month of it. I really recommend.

Bobbybobbins · 18/02/2023 19:30

@Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels

That sounds very intriguing - how do you arrange that?

Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels · 18/02/2023 19:32

@Bobbybobbins I had physio through Bupa which didn't do a lot and they suggested Shockwave therapy. Bupa approved it. Think I had 3/4 sessions in the end. Weird experience but can't fault it!

Bobbybobbins · 18/02/2023 19:34

@Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels

Thank you! Sounds very promising.

TiaI · 18/02/2023 19:37

Get these for arch support 11 WELLBEING 2 Pair Of 3/4 Orthotic Insole Support Helps WEAK and Fallen Arches Also Plantar Fasciitis amzn.eu/d/6mnbqBP then wear any shoe you like. Birkenstocks are good for sandals though.

TiaI · 18/02/2023 19:38

This specific arch support resolved my PF

Anewuser · 18/02/2023 19:43

As @TiaI says. Wear PF insoles then you can wear whatever you like. I never walk barefoot, even getting up in the night I wear fitflops. I wear Fitflop sandals in the summer and even my wellies have insoles in them.

GofE · 18/02/2023 19:49

Not a show recommendation. But.
stretch stretch stretch. I don’t have it now all down to stretching the area. Hurts like hell. But really does sort it. 👍🏻
