Then what shoes do you wear to work? If you have an office style job. I like to look smart at work but all shoes that aren’t trainers hurt my feet so much!

I had planar fasciitis once and it was caused by some twatty fucker pretend to be comfy tresspass walking trainers.

Solved it with heel insoles as I didn't want emplacements them shoes. Buy then they stopped being waterproof (as described) I chucked them out and bought a different brand and never had problems again.

3/4 Orthotic Insole Support Helps Weak and Fallen Arches also Plantar fasciitis, Blue, 5- 6.5 S amzn.eu/d/hRa1YqN

I wear black vans with a black sole and laces. Not super smart (but doesn't matter where I work) but understated.

I don't have it but do struggle with wearing flat shoes so now have Vionic slippers. Vionic do shoes and boots too and they look good for office wear.

Thank you so much everyone! Lots to think about. I think I’ll probably have to try on a few of what’s been recommended!!

Another great way to ease it is massage. Book in with a sports therapist for a calf and foot massage to loosen it. 👍🏻

I battered my soles and calves with a massage gun recently which helped enormously

Get these for arch support 11 WELLBEING 2 Pair Of 3/4 Orthotic Insole Support Helps WEAK and Fallen Arches Also Plantar Fasciitis amzn.eu/d/6mnbqBP then wear any shoe you like. Birkenstocks are good for sandals though.

I have this arch support in every shoe now. Walking and running in a way that doesn’t involve heel striking also helps. Lots of videos on YouTube demonstrating this. Also use a roller on the calfs and a spiky ball under the foot.

Did anyone find that it went when they lost weight (if they needed to)? I've started with it in the last year in my left foot and I definitely have a few excess stones.

I had PF about 10 years ago. Went as soon as my underactive thyroid was treated.

Came back about 2 years ago..mixed in with some achilles tendonitist...went as soon as started HRT.....

Oestrogen and tendons v closely linked.

If you could have something else happening (thryoid/peri) it maybe worth getting that sorted.......

Thats interesting I have had an under active thyroid for over 20 years but started with PF about 10 years ago then have problems with my heels from my early 50’s. Never realised their maybe a connection.

I fortunately don’t have to dress smartly for work thankfully and keep PF under control if I wear slippers in the house all the time (Fitflop, Strive or Crocs have been good.

For being out and about I wear a combination of trainers, some ECCO wedge boots or Josef Siebel flat boots. In summer I like Gabor, Fitflop or Strive (but again I find varying my footwear works best for me). I found Vionic Sandals too hard.

In the early days I wore shoes I had with an insole with good arch support.
