Gel paint for nails

I had mine done for the first time yesterday. Pleased with the results but obviously it won't last forever.

I should have asked, but do I need to go back to have it removed or is there something I can use at home?

You can buy a little bottle of acetone from a pharmacy and remove it yourself. It’s not a particularly nice process though. Soak cotton wool in acetone and then place on your nails, I wrap the ends of my fingers with foil to keep it in place. Then wait a while and see if you can push the gel off with an orange stick, if not, repeat until you can. I’m sure it’s better to get it removed professionally

You'll need to soak them for at least 20 mins and try not to scrape too much. If after 20 mins it doesn't all come off, re-soak the pad and leave on for another 10 mins or so.

If you have glitter on, I'd recommend a gentle buffing before soaking or else it will take forever to come off. Do it gently just to remove the rough glitter.

You need some of this mylee.co.uk/collections/gel-removal/products/mygel-by-mylee-magic-gel-remover-15ml (generic versions available on Amazon).

Really easy to use and so much kinder to nails & skin around them than soaking.

Whatever you do, do not peel it off - you’ll ruin your nails that way.
