I am 41, are these too young for me?

If they’re ok, what would you wear with them on a hen do?! 🌹

I wear Solovair derby boots not DMs, and I think you should wear footwear that are comfortable and that you like. Age doesn't come into it.

@DuesToTheDirt , if you alternate your footwear they last longer. Smile

Yeah, I can tell myself that lol! The current pair have lasted 5 years though and still going strong, worn most days except during lockdown. I'm now on my third pair of laces for them - this time I bought extra-strong laces!

I have to remind myself that I only have one pair of feet.
I have several pairs/versions of the 'one pair that I could wear with everything'.

I'm paranoid now! I'm 40 and I've just bought these. Totally out there for me but I bloody love them and they're really comfortable but honestly are they too young for me??

Not if you can walk in them.

I've got some Blowfish non-leather boots ( I had a pang of regret not buying some sage green lace up boots in a Vegan Footwear shop in Brighton so bought the Blowfish ones -in tan)

I've only ever worn them with jrans TBH , luckily they have a side zip otherwise it would rake me a week to put them on, I;m 56 yo

DMs wouldn;t suit my horribly narrow hypermobile feet but my Mum used to wear the shoes when she worked ( bakery , on her feet all day ) she loved them !

TheDead · 19/02/2023 20:41

I'm early 50s & would not wear those boots or indeed any DMs. Nothing to so with age. I just don't like them.
I wore bottle green ones in my 20s
My 17 Yr old wears black patent laced shoes & she loved most them. They KILLED her feet trying to break them I'm though & took months.
I would have thrown them away but she stuck with them

purpledalmation · 19/02/2023 20:47

I think they are a young persons boot, but a Vivienne Westwood rocker would get away with it.

It's entirely up to you and your style, not age.

I wear DMs at 68, and while those are not for me, I would wear them with black clothes to offset the flowers.

BIWI · 19/02/2023 22:18

If you like them, if they fit, if you can afford them, then they're perfect for you, whatever age you are.

Stop with the ageist shit.
