Commuter backpack help

Hi all, I'm looking for a backpack for commuting, I'd like internal laptop sleeve, water bottle holder, organisers for notepads etc....but I'd like it to be fashionable too if such a thing exists. I used to love my Hershel backpack but it's not got the features.

Commuting in London for the first time in years, is there a certain type that's popular? (It was all about Hershel last time I was in London which might give away how long it's been ha!)

I've got a Targus Newport which I like the look of as well as the practicality. It doesn't have an external water bottle holder though.

Not quite the same as this as I've had it a couple of years but very similar link.

Try Whistles, they do nice ones!

I love ROKA London ones. Loads of different styles and v popular. I had a bright coloured one but found I was always washing it due to travelling on tube / train - now I have khaki green and it's my perfect backpack. Stylish and practical.

I brought this one recently and it's great kapten-son.com/en/p/aalborg-all-black-75

I bought this for a friend for Christmas. She loves it.

Try Nordace. Smart rather than pretty, but ticks all of your other boxes. Mine is great for work, including when I need an overnight stay.

I have this one and love it. They do a 'womens' version but it's smaller.

I had a Konomo one when I was working. Black with gold hardware. Simple, comfortable to carry and stylish.

Cabaia.
Huge in France, well-made and stylish. Loads of colours to choose from.

I also have a Nordace.

Practical, lightweight but sturdy, lots of compartments, different colour options.

Not fashionable but smart and unobtrusive.

I got one from London www.ismad.co.uk amazingly good service and looks smart but is practical and a perfect size for laptop/water etc. Doesn’t have lots of compartments though, only front pocket and zipped section.

nca89 · 15/02/2023 21:36

Thanks everyone, I think Cabaia is winning for me, love the Roka too but not enough pockets from what I can tell. Nordace a close second but think I prefer the look of the Cabaia.

Just to add, I have a Cabaia as do many of my colleagues. Lots of pockets for organisation and I love how it opens so widely at the top.

(On the French website each style is named after a different city in the world - not sure why they didn't do the same for the UK website!)

I also got a rain cover for mine (although they are waterproof I wanted to protect mine more) and a little extra side pocket.

Ireallydohope · 17/02/2023 14:13

I love my Herschel which is still going strong after many years of use but I really like the Cabaia ones too. I'll have a look when I'm in Paris to see them close up to compare for when I finally need a new one.

I'm very attached to my Herschel so it'll take something splendid to replace brands

I had a lovely leather and canvas backpack I never used as it was just one big space.

Then I found out you can buy inserts for them and I use it all the time now!

Ive been surprised by how much I like my Jan Sport one - it was less than £30 too. Ill definately upgrade to something fancier eventually but for now my Jan Sport (think its a superbreak plus) is great.
