Has anyone tried these guys? Im looking for some nice comfortable black work trousers and saw some I liked from this company. Just wondering if anyone has any experience of them?

Yes, I ordered a couple of the Abbey vest tops last season. I was a bit unsure about ordering because I'd usually order multiple sizes from a new brand as sizing and fit are all over the place. I followed their sizing guidance and came out as a 12 when I'd never usually buy that size (8 or 10 normally). I took the plunge ordered the 12's and they fit great and are good quality. It's very useful that they provide actual garment measurements so you can measure a similar item you own that fits well to work out what size to order.

I'm tall so I'm not sure much of their stuff would fit and tbh most of it isn't my style or the colours I'd usually wear. But I like the philosophy and want to support them so I joined their contributors group and got to provide feedback on my preferred styles, prints and colours for the current collection to try to change this. My favourite style of dress did make the cut in my preferred print!

Just as an fyi, I ordered a dress from them over Instagram and it didn't suit me at all. They have a very strange returns policy which means they won't accept a return unless you post it first on their FB page to see if you can sell it to somebody else.

Initially I was furious, really didn't have time for that faff, but actually someone bought it straight away. Paid by bank transfer and I sent it same day.

WTF? What sort of returns policy is that? No thanks.

Is that even legal??

This Is Unfolded’s ethos is to minimise waste and be more sustainable. You basically preorder clothes so they don’t over produce.

@TheEverdelightfulsamantha they haven't arrived yet, theres a 4ish week wait! So hopefully they won't be too long. I don't mind to much waiting but hope they are worth it!!

I did see the returns policy and watched the Facebook page for a couple of days to make sure stuff sells so hopefully won't be. problem. They have shown some designs for the next collection and they have some beautiful bits so I'm really hoping that the quality is good!!

I don't understand why I would wait so long for something that I can't even customise the length of sleeves or dress and why are they sizing a normally size 8 woman to a 12? That's not going to please many customers but I suppose their type of customer is more bothered about ethics and environment that body/fashion conscious types. The clothes look very sad and unimaginative and now this crap about their returns? Not for me!

Gosh! That is ridiculous.

Waited months for trousers. The fit is roomy. On their advice ordered a 16 but a 14 would have been fine. Trousers are far far too long so having to get them altered.

I did a charge back through my credit card and got a refund after waiting 13 weeks for a dress which still hasn’t appeared. I think they are scammers

They make it very clear that there is a wait to receive orders. You shouldn’t have ordered from them if you weren’t prepared for that.

I dont mind a short wait and understood why,but months is ridiculous. A person could gain or lose weight in that time and then the item doesnt fit

@ChristmasPuddy they say 4-6 weeks, not 13 weeks. Don’t be ridiculous

I was unaware of the long wait times as there certainly was nothing about them when I got to the delivery stage of ordering on the website. The dress I bought took 8 weeks to arrive, meaning it missed the work Christmas party I’d ordered it for. (It arrived the day after.) I’m pretty relaxed about these things and of course support sustainability but they should be transparent. They kept in touch throughout the process with what stage of production it was at but no idea of delivery date. If it had been clear at the start it would be eight weeks, I could have made an informed decision to buy it or not. Won’t order from them again.

There's a lot of puff on their website about it but very little actual information about the returns policy.

I can't find anything in the regulations about distance selling which permits them to insist on the customer attempting to swap or resell before they will do a refund.

They also have what they call an "archive sale" - if they're only producing what's ordered that shouldn't happen - unless there are loads of returns?

There's "less than 15 % left" of this dress. That's a completely meaningless statement. "15%" of what?
