Hello
ive been very much just wipes and moisturiser on my face for years. I’m about to turn 44 and now my wrinkles around my eyes especially are starting to get me down. I also am getting a ‘Turkey neck’.

Im So sad as I feel I never reached the ‘beautifully glowing’ stage women I know get to and now I just see me going down hill even more.

The cost and idea of Botox etc fills me with horror but is there anything that actually works for these lines?

many thanks

I think you look great, honestly

You skin looks great quality, btw, but I think it is a great idea to look at the stuff out there that can help before the lines take over. I am someone who doesn’t wear make up as I feel weird about putting paint on my face to cover things up, I would rather go for natural beauty myself, so i get where you are coming from with having a minimal beauty routine.
Retinol is the trendy thing atm, it is supposed to help with collagen production in the skin. There are some amazing before and after pictures from it, and much older women who have been using it for a long time who have wonderful skin. I haven’t had a proper go at it myself because it is basically very high levels of vitamin A and I am trying to conceive atm, but as soon as baby making is over then I am starting retinol! There are loads of products with it in at loads of different price ranges. You are supposed to start with a low dose so that it doesn’t cause a reaction on your skin, and use it a few times a week at night.

also collagen supplements are supposed to help, I have been taking powdered marine collagen mixed with diluted orange juice for a while now and my skin looks pretty healthy.
to summarise, I think collagen stimulation and addition is the way to go, as the lack of it in our later years causes the fine lines to appear.

if anyone else has ideas also I would love to hear!

Retinol and vitamin c will help.

If you want any procedures eg Botox/filler/profhilo etc but cost is the issue, look into if there is a good training clinic near you. I go to one that offers model places at a fraction of the cost. These are either done as the demo (done by an expert) or as a training model (done by a trainee under the watchful guidance of an expert).

Ultimately the only thing that will eradicate lines is Botox. If you can afford it I highly recommend it - all the glowy people have had it!!

try The Ordinary - argireline serum.
on the neck too...
and spf :)

I second Botox, had it for the first time a couple of weeks ago just for my crows feet and the difference is amazing (though looks natural)

I also use skin and me, have been using for a year or so and my skin is really benefitting - I'm about to turn 40
