Accessories for this dress

Any thoughts on accessories for this dress. Wearing to a wedding in July. My first thought was blue shoes/bag and blue pendant necklace. All of which I've got but, is it overkill on the blue?

Right, this is me in the dress with different coloured shoes. I'm favouring the blush pair. What say you?

Excuse the mess, we've got kittens

I think both look lovely. The blue is nice as it brings out the necklace more, but the pale ones are a bit more summery.

lovemelongtime · 15/02/2023 13:25

Honestly , for me, those shoes look too bland and a bit boring. For a wedding I would definitely do the colour pop with a bright pink, but if you don't fancy that go for gold, try buying a few things from somewhere like ASOS to try. Free delivery and return.

TheDead · 15/02/2023 14:42

I think the dress is nice on you but those shoes don't work at all. They're fine for everyday wear with the dress but you need something sharper for a wedding I think.

HarryBlaster · 15/02/2023 14:47

I stand by my more sparkly shoe suggestion, as it’s a wedding after all.

MissyB1 · 15/02/2023 15:03

Yes more dressy shoes, metallic, sparkly or neon bright.

takethedevilledeggs · 15/02/2023 15:09

I don't like the shoes.

I'd wear tan or gold gladiator sandals, maybe with a basket/raffia bag.

I had a nice fossil bucket bag with leather trim.

takethedevilledeggs · 15/02/2023 15:10

Really don't like the colour pop suggestions, I don't think it goes with the dress style.

Beautiful dress.

I would go with silver or nude accessories personally.

Same.
Possible a pearl hint.

sarahh96 · 15/02/2023 16:22

I agree, looking again, I hate those shoes too. I've raided the wardrobe and am now sporting a pair of silver shoes. Cant wear these ones as they're fit for the bin but am liking the higher wedge and the silver, thoughts?

Love the shade of blue but think you really do need a bold colour to make it more wedding appropriate/special. If you go for a bold pink, orange, green etc you might be surprised with how often you find yourself wearing anything that you buy e.g. some punchy coloured shoes would look great with jeans and navy trousers for example.

MissyB1 · 15/02/2023 17:15

The silver wedges are better, that dress definitely needs a wedge or high heel.

WingingItSince1973 · 15/02/2023 17:58

Such a beautiful dress. Lemon colour accessories? Or deep pink Xx

WingingItSince1973 · 15/02/2023 18:00

Love the wedges more than the first pairs x

jitteryquick · 15/02/2023 23:35

The dress is lovely but it needs really cool shoes and accessories to make it wedding-y. Otherwise it will look quite boring. I'm sticking to my earlier suggestion of bright yellow shoes. I don't think you're going to go for that though are you? Wink

sarahh96 · 16/02/2023 09:42

@jitteryquick actually I just might. If you could see my online order for shoes you'd be amazed. Think I've got every colour under the sun coming 🤣.

Agreed, you could get a lovely pair of shoes/sandals and if with sandals do a nice bright pedicure.

HarryBlaster · 16/02/2023 20:44

The silver shoes are a massive improvement 👍🏻

LlynTegid · 16/02/2023 20:47

Not the left hand ones of the first two photos, others seem Ok to me.

Growlybear83 · 16/02/2023 21:04

I think the dress is lovely and I would either go for accessories in white or a similar shade of blue. I think it would spoil the dress to wear a different colour.

sarahh96 · 19/02/2023 10:58

Shoes, best of the bunch so far. Not sure if you can see, but sparkly. Thoughts?

I personally think you could do better with shoes and the colour.

Office do a heeled espadrille in either suede or fabric in colours, Haillie, I think.

Whataretheodds · 19/02/2023 13:00

I also think you need a bright accessory. Or at the very least bright mani/pedi.

Bag option.

I think the shoes are fine if you don't want to go bright but sparkly doesn't work with the dress.

sarahh96 · 19/02/2023 14:11

Thank you, you're right. Sparkly doesn't work. I've just worn them outside, the sun caught them and practically blinded me. They're going back.
Think I'm going down the colour route now.
