Tips on styling a light blue coat/pastels

Hello fashionistas,

I want to move away from my very strong colour look and bought myself a long, light blue coat.

A few questions: every Pinterest look says skinny jeans whereas I am moving away from those into bootcut and flares. Would that work with a long coat?

Also, complementing colours? Would a similar blue bag be OTT or should I look to buy a camel bag? For work, it would need a laptop size, for play I tend to only wear crossbody for ease.

Also, what colours would go - I keep seeing camel scarves or grey. Are those the best options? Again, for work I tend to wear fussy, brighter colours with black skirts/trousers but I can't see that working with my coat.

Why are you trying to avoid brights (which are very in)?

Yes flares/bootcut will work with a long coat. I'd get a tan or pale grey laptop bag.

What colours suit you? Pale blue or silvery grey would suit me well but camel would be dreadful.

Let's see your pale blue coat. Love blue.

Blue naturally pairs well with creams, browns etc. And shades from that family

I have a pair of brown Chelsea ankle boots and grey suede tassle ankle boots. Would they go?

@Whataretheodds I agree, camel wouldn't look great though I think grey and white would work

I guess I'm tired of brights for a bit as I'm known for brights! I want a different, softer look

That is a pretty colour.

Yes grey and white would also be fine. Soft or blush pink would also look nice for a feminine look.
