Is it worth it?
I'm usually a low maintenance gal but I've been sucked into rabe reviews about one of their anti ageing creams. £100 but £16.50 if you join.

Gah!!! Since turning 50 I've become hyper aware of my appearance!

I do use my BP products loads, they are great quality. Absolute must is japanfusion cleanser and the retinol serums are fab. Love the Vit C drops, wonderscrub exfoliator, oxygen mask…..there’s tons I use. And just got a fav eye primer and mascara the other day too. Not really had a duff product tbh. I would recommend.

SquirrelSoShiny · 13/02/2023 18:57

I found it a scam to be honest. I liked a few products but not the whole model.

escapingthecity · 13/02/2023 19:03

Depends how into make up you are and if the skincare works for you. The body scrub is lush. The wonder powder is amazing. The nail varnish lasts ages. The eye cream works really well for me.

AlwaysGinPlease · 13/02/2023 20:03

Honestly?!

Some of the products are really good, skincare mostly. BUT their business model is bloody awful. Marcia Kilgore is one strange woman. Very passive aggressive towards customers and customer service is poor.

It's become almost like some weird cult. No comments at all allowed on their SM unless they are 100% positive. They pay people to advertise and have their own ads too which they said they would never do. They're becoming an MLM.

They are economical with the truth. Sometimes to the point where you know it's malicious Its disappointing because when they first started they were great. Now they sell utter tat alongside their beauty stuff. They make up utterly ridiculous RRPS with absolutely no foundation.

I'd give them a miss.

BaggyAndWrinkled · 13/02/2023 20:03

Thank you. I'm still unsure. Would love a miracle cream (wouldn't we all!!)!

I preferred it when you didn't have to sign up for a year

doadeer · 13/02/2023 21:13

It's nothing miraculous but I like a lot of the products. I do repeat purchase several items.

For me it's the

Ceramide capsules (love)
Green overnight miracle oil
The Spf with primer
Plus their nail varnishes.

I don't wear much makeup so can't advise there.

Yes I think their whole model needs some serious scrutiny by consumer protection to be honest.

I don't understand how they get away with saying this cream would cost you x amount

WhyamIinahandcartandwherearewegoing · 13/02/2023 22:08

@plumduck i agree, but I just ignore what they say is an RRP. The prices I have decided are ok for me if I like enough products which luckily I do.

Chippy1234 · 13/02/2023 22:13

I was with them for a year. Serums are nice. So are lipsticks and packing is elegant but the RRP is complete nonsense.

QuimReaper · 13/02/2023 22:35

Interesting, I was having this same thought process just this morning!

Hoolihan · 13/02/2023 22:40

Yes worth it imo - the products are really great, especially the Japanfusion and Uber Youth lines. I've ordered loads and never had a bad item. The makeup is good too and the candles make fab gifts. Very reasonably priced even allowing for the fee. I don't have a problem with the subscription model and never had any issue with customer service.

MonicaFree · 13/02/2023 22:41

Good no, don’t bother.

Chippy1234 · 14/02/2023 09:56

I think some of the paid reviews are on here too. Its just not possible that every single item is good..

I do like the packing but they are rather like Soap and Glory/Bobbi Brown type products. As others have said the RRP is rubbish. No one pays £50 for a body scrub... They also seemed to have big stock issues and often items were out of stock.

ReadingIsFundamental · 14/02/2023 10:08

The prices have gone up quite a lot since they moved to the year subscription model, too.

I’m still on the monthly subscription and need to make 1 final order then leave because I just don’t really use it anymore.

I love the Japanfusion cleanser and some of the serums and moisturiser. I got a lovely nail varnish too.

But I thought some of the make up was dreadful (an eyeshadow stick that changed colour when blended) I bought a tester set of perfumes, the scent did not last at all. I just don’t think their make up is any better than high street brands, despite their marketing trying to convince us we’re in an exclusive club and getting a bargain.

Oh, I blind bought the orange perfume and it smelled like a £10 spray not the £100 it claimed to be worth.

TL,DR - it’s not worth the hype for me.

It’s hardly a scam! It’s a subscription based model so as others have said, if you sign up, you get discounted products. I use them quite a bit as I love their skincare range. I’m not as keen on the makeup and I definitely wouldn’t bother with the supplements.

Chippy1234 · 14/02/2023 11:35

I brought some of their perfumes as I am very lavish with them. However they were either out of stock or the three I did get didnt last long at all. I have some Clairns frangrances and they are almost splashes so I use them a lot. I dont expect them to last much more than a morning or afternoon though and they are circa £30 (and its Clairns!). The BP ones were the same. No way would anyone pay £100 rrp.

Its a nice idea tbh. Serums in particular I use a lot but the body creams, scrubs etc - well you can get better in Boots looking at say Soap and Glory.

FadoFado · 14/02/2023 11:46

Some good items but overall not worth it in my opinion. Their inflated 'non membership prices' are just plucked out of the sky. And their own 'bargain' membership prices have increased significantly.

Same. Scam.
Lots of the stuff I liked was always out of stock too. Wouldn't recommend it.

deeroh · 14/02/2023 11:51

The non member prices are massively over inflated

Showersugar · 14/02/2023 11:56

I tend to be an outlier on these threads as I think their skincare is massively overrated, however I think the make up (with the exception of the eyeshadow sticks) is very good indeed, I have repurchased a number of products. I also like some of their fragrances, make up brushes and make up pouch thingies. I don't believe half the guff about their skincare though, it all feels like mineral oil crap to me (the only skin care products I've repurchased are the SPFs as they're lovely and light).

deeroh · 14/02/2023 12:02

I didn't rate the skincare either. @Showersugar

FadoFado · 14/02/2023 12:03

I like the undereye colour corrector.

Guinefort · 14/02/2023 12:13

I'm still on the old monthly pay subscription. Went on to cancel recently as haven't ordered anything for a while and got sucked in to ordering a few more things, so still haven't actually cancelled 🙈. I do like most of the products I have tried (skin care and make up) . I'm quite shopping averse as I get overwhelmed with too much choice so BP made it easy for me to try a few new things. So I probably should cancel and return to my local Superdrug now I'm a bit more up-to-date on what works for me. It's a shame the subscription costs are so high as I do like the products.

I have felt slightly uncomfortable about the amount of packaging too - - it all comes absolutely beautifully packaged in cardboard boxes and tissue paper - but not really necessary.
