Please help, I need budget jeans

5'7" size 14-16
Previously spent £40 on M&S high waisted magic jeans, that I liked, made me look good but I breathe a sigh of relief when taking them off. My tummy is bulgy, so high waisted is better so I can tuck it in.

Budget definitely no more than £40.

Any ideas?

Have you looked for the exact brand and size on eBay and vinted? I bet you could get them cheap second hand, or a lot cheaper than rrp if they are unused, I’ve bought a few things like this and saved money! X

GilbertNo4 · 12/02/2023 20:32

I've just discovered Matalan jeans. Nothing fancy, but dead cheap!

LeandraDear · 12/02/2023 20:33

How much are the M and s ones?

Niftythrifter · 12/02/2023 20:34

Try TK Maxx that has a good selection of Jeans. I went in today and found imperfect Levi’s for less than 40 quid ( just wished they’d fit).

This is what I wear all the time as I am currently too fat form my Levis. I buy about 4 pairs then when they start to fade too much I give them to the charity shop. Jessie Jeans.

recently got a good pair from F&F ( tesc0)via Next. About £15, high waist, really nice fit. I;m 5'7", size 12 and have a tummy too

TizerorFizz · 12/02/2023 20:41

M&S have loads for £22.50. Just get a slightly lower waist!

Rollinghill · 12/02/2023 20:41

Ooh thanks for the ideas. Vinted is a good call, I did actually try that (that's sadly how I realized I was 14-16 rather than 12-14 but I will keep the jeans anyway because I like them, and will squeeze myself into them
TK Maxx! Yes! I'd forgotten about them.

M&S were £40ish but I think I want to be comfortable slightly more than I want to be stylish.

Ah appreciate all the replies, thank you.
Should probably say I have giant calves and skinny jeans don't fit me, I'm a bootcut fan. Kick me off the S&B board now!

M&S sienna jeans are nice and I’ve had a few pairs off vinted - worth a look, they’re more straight leg, definitely not skinny

mrsoodles · 12/02/2023 20:50

Next!

I've a pair of Next jeans on me and they cost £26, fit like a dream

River Island Molly jeans are also in/around £35ish

DimplesToadfoot · 12/02/2023 20:52

I swear by Sainsburys Tu. I find them so comfy I could sleep in them.

lljkk · 12/02/2023 20:56

Charity shops.

Loveacardigan · 12/02/2023 20:57

I’ve bought some brilliant jeans from Dorothy Perkins. Not expensive.

BHRK · 12/02/2023 20:57

Go to a big M&S and try all the styles on. They have loads and they are great

Inspirationpending · 12/02/2023 20:59

If you are a Costco member (or know someone who is) they sell Levi’s for around £40
ive got a couple of different colours and they are a great fit

Sandra1984 · 12/02/2023 21:01

Primark. I’ve bought many loose fitting jeans for 18 pounds, wash them 100 times and still looking good. My “expensive” jeans option is always Uniqlo, excellent quality, look great but 30’ish pounds. M&S jeans are overpriced and rubbish, avoid.

ByTheGrace · 12/02/2023 21:09

I always used to swear by Tu Jeans and they were great, but no longer live by a Sainsburys, so haven't bought recently. Peacocks Rita were my other go to, but they changed the 3 button waist, so no longer get those.

I have a couple of pairs of mens M&S jeans, proper old fashioned denim, deep pockets and genuinely vintage wash. Unfortunately the current ones aren't the same. I did buy some really soft flattering mens jeans from Primark, but the bloody buttons came off the button fly after a couple of washes, was gutted.

Jeans are difficult and I live in them🙈

Rollinghill · 18/02/2023 17:55

Update! Found a fabulous pair of Lee Jeans on Vinted. Thanks all.

24/7 jeans from Simplybe. Black boot cut ones are brilliant.

OldTinHat · 18/02/2023 18:17

George's Wonderfit jeans from Asda. Bloody brilliant and about £25. Best jeans I've ever worn!

Trinity69 · 18/02/2023 18:18

I get high waisted bootcut jeans from Asda. Think they were about £14.

ElizabethBest · 18/02/2023 18:33

The M&S jeggings are really good

GettingStuffed · 18/02/2023 19:49

The only jeans I wear are Primark mom jeans in a size up
