Can you get a keratin treatment that just relaxes not straightens?

I'm absolutely done with my hair. I'm 40 and I'm curly (type 3A/3B) and have always struggled to fight the frizz. I used irons a lot when younger but embraced the curl more through my 30.
The problem is a) it's so unpredictable (sometimes great sometimes hideous) and b) the curl always mats of frizzes overnight whatever I do (I've tried every way of protecting it and it just doesn't work) so if I'm wearing it curly I have to wash every day.
On top of that as I age the frizz seems to be getting worse. I'm now getting very grey and still dye so I have to chase the roots, frizz and I'm a general fright. As my hair texture has changed the products to encourage curl are working less effectively so some days I honestly look horrific and literally like I walked through a hedge.
So to my question...
I'm getting so depressed about my appearance because of my hair - and I've lost patience with how much effort it requires just to look passable - I'm tempted to do what I said I never would and get a keratin treatment. BUT tbh I don't look great with poker straight hair. I just want it to wave or just lose all the frizz. Does a smoothing/relaxing keratin treatment exist?!

Brazilian blow dry eliminates frizz but doesn't make your hair poker straight. Mine remained wavy, just looked mikes better and was easier to manage.

Thanks! That's what I'm hoping for. I think I'm going to invest...
Can you get it dyed at the same time or does it have to be a different appt?
And after you had it done, did you find you could let your hair air dry and it would be ok? Or did you still need to style?

Kerasilk is supposed to do this because it doesn't have formaldehyde, like many of the other brazilian/keratin treatments - the formaldehyde is what makes it straight, apparently. So the kerasilk one removes frizz but doesn't straighten, I've not tried it yet though. You have to wait two weeks to have it coloured, and it can lighten your current colour when you have it done.

Thanks @Bimbleberries , I'll check it out

I have curly / wavy hair and I've had the kerasilk. It just took the frizz out.

My son (caucasian) has very thick curly /wavy hair and has it relaxed at home by visiting hairdresser with this .
Works well .

oh that is good to here, @soboredtonight as I am considering doing it next month. Can you just go out with curls even in humid or windy days ,and not have it go massively frizzy? That's my dream. It's the ends of my hair that still look ratty and frizzy even after i've straightened it or done a wavy blow dry of some sort - as soon as I go out, they just look a mess, so I'm really hoping it'll help with that.

I've been told it could lighten my colour, so I will have to get it done afterwards as my roots are very grey, so I hope two weeks after will work.

You need to leave it a week before you dye it. It also lightens your hair I find ( not sure it's meant to!) so don't dye your hair before you have the keratin

Hi @YukoandHiro Just wondering whether you went for the keratin treatment, your hair sounds just like mine and I’ve been debating it but just can’t decide!

I had a keratin treatment recently - took hours and the difference is completely minimal. Waste of time for me.
