Collagen Powder

Has anyone tried collagen powder and had results?
I've bought some marine collagen from Hunter Gather, that's supposed to be unflavoured, but it tastes awful, I just can't stomach it.
I'm trying to help my skin out, it's just so tired at the moment, full if uneven skin and enlarged pores, also my hair is thinning, all probably due to perimenopause, I just feel so totally rubbish.

I use a liquid one by Swedish Nutra, I have it in a glass with Berocca and can’t taste it at all. Tried it on a whim and saw results very quickly so have stuck with it!

What results did you see, please? (not asking in a cynical way, just that I have yet to see any results for me!)

I noticed my skin was smoother and clearer, but primarily it was the glow! I just suddenly had this amazing glow that I hadn’t had since I was pregnant. It really made me look like I was glowing from good health, was very impressed as I’ve spend loads of money on ‘glow’ skincare products but this really works. I didn’t notice a difference in existing lines, but I do feel like it’s frozen my skin in place a bit as I don’t seem to have developed any new ones!

I had been using mine for about 5-6 weeks when I noticed it I think as I bought a twin pack and was musing on not buying any more around the time I used up my first bottle, but then when I was midway through the second I could really see the difference. Have drunk it every day since!

I did try a slightly cheaper brand one month but I made me gag it was so gross. I stick to this one now as I can’t taste it with my berocca.

I'm sorry to hear that you're going through a tough time with your skin and hair. If the marine collagen from Hunter Gather isn't working out for you, you might want to consider trying U+ Pure Collagen Protein Powder. It's often praised for being unflavored, making it easier to mix with various beverages without the unpleasant taste. Many people have reported positive results for skin and hair health with this particular brand. It's worth a shot, and I hope it brings you the relief you're looking for during this challenging time. Always consult with your healthcare provider for personalized advice based on your individual health needs. Take care!

Don't take it if you have a family history of breast cancer. I have topical collagen and it's brilliant

Just on the powder taste issue, I couldn't stomach mine, ruined coffee immediately in spite of being 'flavourless', I tried dissolving it in food instead, and there it works. I now mix it thoroughly in with my yogurt each day!

Collagen is broken down in stomach acid.

Sorry. You might as well be taking a spoonful of whey protein... Costs a fraction of the price and achieves the same result if you want 'peptides/protein'.

Positive study here - from what I understand experts haven’t trialled enough/don’t understand the mechanism well enough to outright endorse oral collagen supplements yet…but some results so far look promising.

I’ve taken it that experts think oral low-molecular weight collagen peptides act a bit like a ‘starter’ - i.e. the body takes what little gets through and starts making more of its own.

Going on a tangent here but a bit like fermented foods - they resemble what the digestive system turns food into so they give the body a headstart.

Oral Intake of Low-Molecular-Weight Collagen Peptide Improves Hydration, Elasticity, and Wrinkling in Human Skin: A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Study - PubMed

Collagen-peptide supplementation could be an effective remedy to improve hydration, elasticity, and wrinkling in human skin. The aim of this study was to conduct a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial to clinically evaluate the effect on...
