Need some help with a mega itchy jumper!!

I splashed out recently on a pure wool Pachamama jumper which I adore but boy is it itchy! I've worn it once and even with a long sleeved top underneath it drove me crackers!
Is there anything I can do to soften it up? Any fabric softener that may help? Or have I made an expensive mistake?
Please help, wise mumsnetters.

Sorry ...wool always makes me itch. I'm not sure there is anything you can do

I buy their fleece lined versions because pure wool is inherently itchy.
Is it too late to exchange?
If so, could take to a tailor and get lined with fleece or canvas.

See pretty much every jumper pattern comes in a lined version:

You might be able to return in exchange? Their customer service is usually really good.

If it's too late to return, try soaking it in a basin of dilute hair conditioner.

Wool is itchy. I don't know why people buy it.
