I am 5’7 so on tallish side . Bought some jeans there the other week which are so long that when barefoot I walk on them . Went back today to get some ones that don’t to that , they were all long in me . Anyone else noticed that ?

Same height and same problem !

MissyB1 · 11/02/2023 18:09

Yes all their trousers and jeans have got stupidly long. I’m 5ft 3 and even their “short” is a bit long on me.

IhearyouClemFandango · 11/02/2023 18:50

I'm 5'8" and find lots of them too short! Their L length mom jeans are mid to low calf on me.

Exactly the same. All the extra length seems to be in the body.. they're VERY high waisted

ChrisPPancake · 11/02/2023 18:58

Actually I bought some today and noticed I needed standard length rather than the long I usually get. Figured I'd just shrunk a bit but maybe not!

cheapskatemum · 11/02/2023 19:09

I wonder if M&S are responding to complaints that their standard length jeans were too short. I bought their Magic jeans early 2020 & had to get the Long length- I'm 5'5" tall with legs in proportion, so wouldn't have expected to need longer than standard length jeans. Same last summer when I bought their Mom jeans. Maybe they've gone too far the other way?

MadeOfSteel · 11/02/2023 19:13

I'm 5'7" too. I used to wear long trousers/jeans from M & S but I can get away with wearing regular now. They do seem to have changed the sizing, though I think it was wrong before.

bigbluebus · 11/02/2023 19:33

I'm 5ft 8 and always used to buy their long jeans but the last few pairs have definitely been too long for me too.

TattiePants · 11/02/2023 19:44

I’m 5ft 11 and have had to send the long length back and buy regular!

LucysTamborine · 11/02/2023 19:47

Yes! I used to get regular and now I'm a short, and even the short is a touch long (5ft4)

Sucessinthenewyear · 11/02/2023 19:48

They’ve changed their sizing. It was on their website but you had to hunt for it. A new regular is supposed to be the old long ect. They now sell short and extra short.

Except it’s doesn’t seem to have changed exactly. I’m 5’5 and regular was perfect. Now the short (the old regular) is too short and the regular (previous) long is too long.

HasItStoppedWayneing · 11/02/2023 19:50

There was a thread on here a while back me to that M&S had changed the leg lengths of all their trousers. I’ve always found a standard length perfect but bought this size recently and it was too long. I’ve got the same style wide leg trouser from last year. There’s an inch or more difference in length. Which would be okay if Marks told people they’d changed their sizing AND alters their size charts.

redspottedmug · 11/02/2023 19:51

Absolutely ridiculous. I bought standard, 6 inches too long. Bought short, still could lose 2". I'm 5'4" so very average.

EllaPaella · 11/02/2023 20:34

I'm 5'7 and cannot relate to this at all. I have several pairs of M&S jeans and none of them are long, I buy the regular length.

redspottedmug · 11/02/2023 20:53

Talking about ones bought very recently. I have plenty of old M&S regular trousers that are a perfect length.

Bobbybobbins · 11/02/2023 21:01

Yep I'm 5'5 and have gone from regular being the perfect length to short being the perfect length.

Poblano · 11/02/2023 21:06

Same here, until around 6 months ago I needed a long, now the regular fits.

Seriously.

devonianpricklypear · 11/02/2023 21:09

Just alter them

I'm perfectly capable of altering clothes, thanks. But there seems little point when I can save time and just buy the length that fits. The issue is that the length which used to fit no longer does, so I have to try them on to check first rather than just grabbing a pair and knowing they'll be fine.

ScattyHattie · 11/02/2023 21:17

I don't understand why M&S altered all the leg lengths rather than just add a new x long option. It must've cost them a lot in returns as I ordered usual regular jeans only to find were all now few inches too long.

smooththecat · 11/02/2023 21:25

It says regular inside leg is 31 inches, that sounds about right to me. Is it not accurate?

Same here! To get leg length long enough, some of them are up to my ribs.

I think it must be if you have long legs and an average/shorter body?

I'm wondering the same. I just ordered a pair of regular length jeans, identical to a pair I bought in November. The description said 78cm, which is 30.7 inches.

springlike · 11/02/2023 21:50

I'm loving all the longer lengths. Can finally buy jeans in the high street that fit. Now just have to find somewhere that sells size 9.5 shoes!
