Spring in Santorini

Please please help me! We are going away at the end of March to Santorini. I've Googled average temperatures and it reckons it's usually around 16/18 degrees. I have to be honest, this means nothing to me! I'm thinking maybe just like a spring day here? My problem is my wardrobe - I really have no idea what to wear. It's going to be too cold for me to swim, maybe too cold for the normal shorts/dresses holiday wear. Please help me with some ideas - I normally live in jeans until summer. I'm a size 10/12, tall, late 40's if that makes a difference. I think the days will be spent sightseeing, maybe a boat trip (if there's anything open at that time of the year), eating out...
Please help me fill my suitcase!
Thank you in advance!

Santorini is very windy as well so don't expect much in the way of warmth.

Happyinheels · 11/02/2023 11:50

Oh great 🤣

We went in June and it was warm but super windy 🤣 was a bit chilly at night down at the beach front

Yeah, I'd leave the bathers at home (unless the hotel has a heated pool which is very unlikely).

From a sightseeing point of view, it will be a lot quieter than high summer so a good time to go.

We went in June and got a great tan as you don't realise you are burning due to the wind 😬

Happyinheels · 11/02/2023 12:12

🤣 oh joy!!! I'm cold at the best of times - never considered the wind though so I'm glad I've asked!
At least I haven't had to worry about a 'bikini body' - sounds like I'll be taking my big coat at this rate!

We LOVED it there - enjoy. It is gorgeous. I didn't wear anything over my dress at night but it was June.

Happyinheels · 11/02/2023 12:19

@RainyDaysareCarp thanks for that - maybe I'll take those shorts anyway, you know, for the wind burn tan?!

Gorgeous place, but very windy. Jumpsuit and denim jacket worked for me in the evenings. This was early October time with temperatures of 20-24 degrees.
