What can I wear to nephews wedding in early March?

I've just realised I'm going to a wedding in early March and haven't a clue what to wear at that time of year. It's all at one venue, I think, not a church so at least don't need to worry about coats.
I'm 62, 5'1", a bit overweight (clothes are mostly size 12), can't do heels. I don't want anything too fancy (my SIL the other aunt doesn't usually have spare cash to go out and buy new outfits for events).

Not great access to shops now that Debenhams is gone... we've got M&S, H&M and Next, that's about all.

Any ideas please?

Smart trousers and a lovely blouse? You could always put a thin thermal vest on under the blouse if it’s chilly.

Why are you rejecting online shopping?

Obviously you don’t have to buy anything ‘fancy’ - but what’s your budget limit?

Or did you mean you do want online suggestions because of poor local shops?

I'd go for a nice trousers suit, some embellished flats and a top/blouse thats nice enough to look smart with the suit jacket off. You could play with spring colours.

Trousers do seem like the obvious solution ... not sure any of my existing smart ones fit me at the moment, I usually wear black jeans 'out'.

Re online shopping - I do buy tops online but experience tells me that trying to get trousers that fit that way would be unlikely to succeed. And shoes are worse!

Well... M&S and next are generally more likely to yield petite length trousers than elsewhere.
