Hi,

I’m looking to invest in some high quality make-up items. I’m in my mid 20s.

I already have the Chanel cream bronzer on my list. Anything else I should add?

List your favourites, please!

I love clé de peau beauty for high quality - the foundations / concealers are incredible, pricey but definitely worth it.

More mid range - Charlotte tilbury is a winner for me (under eye corrector / the light wands / contour wands and flawless filter are great), Laura Mercier translucent setting powder doesn't crease on my face at all (even under the eyes), Bobbi Brown for the vitamin face base, hourglass do lovely blushes and highlights (the ambient lighting edit is my favourite). The mascaras I've found just whatever works for you is the best, super expensive doesn't make any difference for me.

I'm in my late 20s if that's any help 😊

Have you tried the chanel bronzer?

I like the Charlotte Tilbury "nipple blushes
Charlotte Tilbury airbrush flawless finish powder.
A pat mcgrath "mothership" in which ever shades catch your eye. But wait for a sale - there's always a sale coming up.
Hourglass mascara- either of them
Or Mac Stack mascara.

Thank you both! I already own the Hourglass Ambient lighting palette (Universe) and the Laura Mercier loose setting powder. I love them both, so I won’t be changing those.

I was gifted the Too Faced Cinnamon Swirl eyeshadow palette for Christmas and I have the black diamond Charlotte Tilbury colour eyeshadow pencil too. They’re all the colours I’ll ever need…

@plumduck, I haven’t tried the cream bronzer yet!

Yes for the Chanel cream bronzer (I use it) and I also like the Charlotte Tilbury powder bronzer (I have a palette with the bronzer and highlighter in, it’s fab).

As others have said, Laura Mercier loose powder to set (I’ve only just started doing this, early 30s here but it definitely keeps the makeup in place).

Base wise, I’ve never been one for a full coverage foundation - if you are a Chanel fan I adore the Les Beiges foundation, for something a bit fuller coverage I rate their CC cream and this doubles as my concealer if I need it.

I like a cream blush stick (Clinique chubby stick for me, but plenty of other options out there).

Eyeshadows, I’m a Charlotte Tilbury girl, but also love Dior and think Pat McGrath ones look amazing but haven’t bought one yet.

Mascara , whichever you prefer.

Depending on your skin tone I would try it out in store if you can. They reformulated it about a year or so ago so not all the reviews you see online will be about this product.
Do you use primer? A nice primer makes a big difference. Hourglass do a small bottle of their veil one or the charlotte tilbury Hollywood flawless one is nice.

The cream bronzer is well worth the splurge.

ByTerry do a brilliant serum foundation OR for something with more coverage I would go for Suqqu.

Lipsticks - Charlotte tilbury or Chanel
Blush - Nars
Eyeshadow - urban decay
Eyeliners - Estée Lauder or Victoria Beckham
