When do you throw away blush / eyeshadow pallets ?

I have so many, I think even if I wore them everyday for the rest of my life I still wouldn't use up what I've got. It seems almost impossible to use up these pallets, which begs the question, when should you throw them away?

I have newer powders from advent calendars that I don't want to open because I have so many already on the go!

To clarify my previous post - I went through a period where I had an infection of my eyelids almost permanently for several months and after the umpteenth prescription for antibiotics, my GP suggested I should ensure I change eye makeup regularly as a precaution. Since I started doing so, I have only rarely suffered with eyelid infections and then usually towards the end of the three months. I understand that some people,like me, are prone to this, and the cost of new make up is nothing compared to the discomfort of frequent infections.

I recycled a Sleek eyeshadow palette recently. A mini one from this set from Christmas 2017 So over five years old. Along with the lip cream and mascara that came in the set.
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324027748955 Also recycled two old Rodial mascaras also unused. I saw articles online that said anything over three years old can be past its best even if unopened. Have to say the eyeshadows looked ok but couldnt be sure. I originally had three Rodial mascaras. They all came free with Red years ago. . I did use one and have to say Rodial is the best mascara i have ever used.

But when i opened the matte metallic lip cream last week it stunk. It had definately gone off. Ive had impetigo on my lip in the past and have to be careful.
