I've got pretty good skin so just cleanse, tone and moisturise each day. I don't ever really wear make-up and have never really experimented with it.

For an occasional night out I will wear some lipstick and mascara but never foundation or anything on my skin. When I have occasionally tried, it's always really poor, caked and patchy looking. It just can't be bothered to put the time, effort and money in to learning how to do it right for maybe 2-3 events a year.

I'm going to a wedding in April. I'm 44. Is now the time to learn? Or should I splash out on a professional make-up artist? I've been really impressed with some 'glow up' videos on social media recently and I'd quite like to see if I can make something much more of myself.

Any advice?
