No.7 Hydraluminous - wtf happened??

Does anyone know if they changed the original Boots no.7 Hydraluminous foundation when they redesigned the packaging? Just got a new tube and it’s gloopy, oily and with very poor coverage - I’m absolutely gutted! The original was the best foundation I’ve ever used and I really can’t be doing with having to start my search all over again.

If anyone happens to have any unused tubes of the original in Calico they don’t want, feel free to send them my way! Fist world problems I know but this has just really irritated me. There’s no need.

Yes they changed it. It was amazing. It’s disgusting now.

They did the same to the stay matte one but I think changed back to the original formula after they had so many complaints

I’ve found the new packaging ones fine, am on my second blue and white tube.

Actually maybe the coverage did used to be better, but certainly don’t find it gloopy.

Huh? I've got both on the go because I opened the new one before I finished the old one. I haven't experienced any difference. It's great.

I wouldn’t say the coverage from the new ones is bad, covers my spots up fine but maybe not quite as glowy. But that might be me getting older. I certainly hadn’t thought that it was the foundation, I’m fretting now! 😄

Gosh, I’m on my 5/6th new packaging one. I can’t say I’ve noticed a difference and I’m also a calico wearer!

Maybe you got a bad batch? V annoying tho when you love a foundation...this one got rave reviews on mumsnet recently, tho not sure which version.

Oooo. Mine did this yesterday. I thought it was because I hadn't used it for a while and it had settled or separated. All this oil came out first. It was ok when I eventually applied it, though.

I haven't noticed a difference either. I started my first "new" version a couple of weeks ago.

It says this on the product page on boots:

So no idea why yours feels different

Have you got a picture of the ingredients of that bottle OP? You could compare them to what they're selling now and know for certain.

I have always found it a touch gloopy to be honest (albeit I did used to really like it). I also tried it again recently in the 'new' (and labelled as such) bottle and wasn't hugely keen but put that down to a change in preference or my skin.

If you're not able to find a replacement I can recommend NYX Born to Glow Foundation which is about £10. I prefer the finish of it to the Hydraluminous. I also used Calico and at the moment mix together the colour Porcelain and Light Porcelain as I couldn't find the shade I wanted on the day and needed it then and there. Porcelain suits me fine alone in the summer.

Gosh that is very strange! Mine is definitely different, much more oily and the coverage is really poor - the old one glided over my pores and left a lovely natural finish but this one sits in every single imperfection. It’s hideous.
