I’m going to the shop today as I’m in London. Not even sure what I want. What would you aficionados recommend ?
im in my 50s so anything to help perk up this menopausal face is a win!

It is. But the good new is the website isn’t!

The lipsticks. I wear Velvet Ribbon and Velvet Carnival and am
about to buy Rainbow Spill and Velvet Jazz. I don’t buy other brands anymore.

The gloss in Sonbird is a lovely balmy light nude. It’s all beautiful but they’re my favourites.

Yes, the pop up closed early Jan. What a shame. I do hope she's going to open a permanent shop soon

I have tons of her make up and really like it all, except for the glosses. They're nice, and the colours are lovely, but I didn't think they were worth the price

The foundation is good, the eyeshadow palettes are gorgeous. The Velvet lipsticks are lovely, really quite comfortable for mattes and the shade range is fabulous

ArseInTheDogBowl · 04/02/2023 11:05

Had the best customer service and advice ever when contacting them around new year for foundation samples. Really friendly and speedy too.

I like the foundation, lasts well, great finish, comfortable to wear. I have a couple of the glosses and like those, the lip pencil too. Also really like the liquid lurex eyeshadows.

Want to buy one of the eyeshadow palettes next.

Ireallydohope · 04/02/2023 16:34

I just have her lipsticks but they're my absolute favourites because of colour and their consistency

InsomniacVampire · 04/02/2023 20:06

All the lippies, and I want the palettes too, all of them, they look amazing.

WhereAreWeNow · 04/02/2023 20:10

I really want to buy one of her lipsticks but I don't want to buy online without trying. I'm torn between Velvet Blush, Blush Lightly, and Beauty. So is there nowhere to try on IRL? Do people really buy £25 lipsticks without seeing them IRL first?

LadyOfTheCanyon · 04/02/2023 20:13

@WhereAreWeNow
There are quite a few YouTube videos that show swatches of LE lipsticks - you might be able to get a good idea from some of those?

WhereAreWeNow · 04/02/2023 21:55

Thanks. I've been obsessively trawling through those @LadyOfTheCanyon but it's just made me less sure which to buy! The colours I'm interested in all look so different in the different videos and swatch pics - different lighting, different skin tones - it's hard to get a good sense of what they're like in the flesh. I own so many lipsticks that aren't quite right and I never wear. I don't want to add a LE lippy to my collection of expensive mistakes!

Orangeslemon · 04/02/2023 22:14

I have a few Lisa Eldridge lipsticks and Velvet Beauty is the one I’d repurchase in a heartbeat! Such a lovely texture and really brightens up my face. Definitely the lipstick I’ve had the most compliments on. The other two I have are Velvet Muse which is a bit dark for me and Go Lightly which isn’t the best texture (not sure this is sold as a lipstick anymore).

WhereAreWeNow · 04/02/2023 22:35

I don't suppose you could post a swatch of Velvet Beauty @Orangeslemon ?@Orangeslemon ? I am quite tempted to buy it so I'm looking for lots of pics to get a really good idea of the shade.

Orangeslemon · 05/02/2023 22:03

@WhereAreWeNow Here's a swatch I did in the daylight this morning! I think it photographed pretty accurately – maybe looks a bit darker on my arm than it does on my lips.

WhereAreWeNow · 06/02/2023 06:55

Oh that's gorgeous @Orangeslemon .Thank you! It's brighter/redder than I thought it would be. It looks lighter pink on the LE website.

QuizteamAguillera · 06/02/2023 07:24

I would love to buy the foundation but daren’t by online, interested to hear about the samples!

I was going to go to the pop up but there were 4 days of train strikes in the last week it was there.

You can use Findation to get your match in Lisa Eldridge. Just put in a couple of foundations you use that are the right shade and it will tell you your match in LE

QuizteamAguillera · 06/02/2023 09:24

Unfortunately none of my foundations are the right colour to start with.

WhereAreWeNow · 06/02/2023 10:52

It's not just the shade of the foundation, it's the texture and coverage. I wouldn't spend that much on a foundation without trying a sample first. I've learnt the hard way!

ArseInTheDogBowl · 06/02/2023 12:39

If you email the customer service team at Lisa Eldridge and ask them about the foundation test cards they might be able to help- they were so helpful when I contacted them and sent some out to me.
