Brow gel that doesn't flake

Anyone have any recommendations for some type of brow gel that keeps brows properly fixed all day but DOES FLAKE?

By mid afternoon my brows are looking like they need a dose of head & shoulders

Most recently I've tried the benefit one - fab fixing for flake central, and the elf one - nicer less flakey consistency but not quite enough hold

Following (sorry I’m no actual help)

SirVixofVixHall · 03/02/2023 10:15

I have a Boots no 7 pen that has a sort of stiff, waxy stick at one end, and a little brush at the other end. It is colourless. Works well on me with no flaking.
I also find the Glossier one good.

wibblewobbleball · 03/02/2023 10:16

L'Oréal one doesn't flake, neither does the beauty pie one.

wibblewobbleball · 03/02/2023 10:17

Oh and both hold well I find and have a decent mid brown that doesn't throw too red or dark.

Have you tried wax, I have one from The Body Shop and one from Benefit where you brush on a powder then set with coloured wax, I don't bother with the powder I just use the wax bit which I find is enough colour.

squeak52 · 10/02/2023 15:58

Thanks all! I've tried the elf wax but it doesn't give me enough hold. @Skyeheather does the benefit wax keep brows in place?

I love the beauty pie one, and it doesn't flake. I also liked the Glossier one, which is pretty much the same as Beauty Pie, but more expensive.

I’m using a Revitalash one at the moment , it was a freebie gift with purchase. Seems pretty shift proof

I am happy with the Benefit wax - do they still have Benefit counters in Department Stores etc? (all my local ones shut down for good during Covid). Benefit have always let me have a try of anything I've been interested in, they show you how to apply and apply it for you then you can go away and see how it lasts etc.

princessbear80 · 11/02/2023 13:50

I liked the ELF one but as you said, not enough hold. I’ve switched to using a brow gel that comes in a little pot. Saw it on Instagram, it’s called pink hone

princessbear80 · 11/02/2023 13:51

Hit post toon soon!

…it’s pink honey, and the gold is amazing. But it’s not tinted, so you’d need another product for colour. I keep meaning to use Just For Men on my brows but haven’t got round to it!

princessbear80 · 11/02/2023 13:52

God the typos!! The hold is amazing!

Iwasntgettingasandwich · 11/02/2023 13:53

L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper. Excellent, no.flakes, no itching, cool toned. Huge tube too!

Cece92 · 11/02/2023 13:57

I was thinking about this today and was wondering whet can I post to ask this 😂 I'll need to have a look now xx

squeak52 · 11/02/2023 14:22

Thanks so much for the suggestions!

@princessbear80 that sounds awesome, I think I'll give it a try too!

Dammit they're all sold out! I guess it must be good...

The one I have is the raspberry flex hold one, it smells lovely too.

It’s basically a hard gel, you wet the spoolie brush and circle it round the gel in the pot, and then apply it to your brows. It got me thinking about just using my son’s 99p extra hold gel from the corner shop. I reckon they’d have similar results 😂

Niftythrifter · 11/02/2023 15:14

I just use cheap and chips clear mascara on my brows from 17, collection or whatever range is on offer.

catnip1990 · 11/02/2023 18:40

I use eyelash glue on mine! Excellent hold!

RhadamanthNemes · 11/02/2023 18:43

I have to ask what brow gels actually do?

A bit of vasaline to keep them in shape is usually enough.

Some are tinted (especially good for the white hairs in my eyebrows! Blush), some have fibres in to bulk brows up a bit but they all let you brush and set them in place. I wear minimal make up but eyebrow mascara makes me feel instantly 'done'.

Rebellious23 · 12/02/2023 20:29

Pink honey definitely and they do a tinted one too

AbsolutePixels · 12/02/2023 22:33

I use the Revolution brow gel. It's lovely and nourishing, not at all flakey. However, the hold is not really enough on my unruly brows.
