...and just have ONE really lovely one, what would it be?

I only ever wear brown/bronze tones and I'm on the lookout for a really good eyeshadow pallette with a mix of nudes and some shimmery ones (not full on glitter)

I have so many cheap palettes, most of them Makeup Revolution, that I never use that are gathering dust and I'd just like to treat myself to something that feels a bit more luxurious.

I've had the Naked palette before but to be honest I can't remember what the pigmentation was like or how long the shadows lasted.

Also if anyone has any recommendations for a good eye shadow primer and concealer for pale skin I'd appreciate it! I've never really used concealer but have switched to a lighter coverage foundation so it's definitely needed.

Eyeshadow primer I'm using at the moment is the MAC painterly paint pot but don't really rate it.

the naked pallets do me, ive got a lot of them
ive had them for years and still my to go as well as im too cheap (lol) to buy anything else while they all still have life in them, the amount of times i wear eyeshadow these days they will last me for the rest of my life

Another vote for Pat McGrath, I’m a bit crap at applying and blending eye shadow but find Pat McGrath pallets easy to blend. Beautiful pigmentation.

laura Mercer caviar sticks are lovely too.

Probably a palette from Huda beauty and for a primer the hourglass one. Using this combo on Wednesday, I put my makeup on at 7am and at 9pm the eyes still looked perfect, no creasing at all - and I have slightly hooded lids that are quite greasy.

I really like beauty bay's own make. Had a make up artist helping me with make up and she was impressed with them.

I have all the Naked pallets. Naked 3 is the one I keep going back to. Lasts really well for me, and travels well also. I have had some lovely Bobbie Brown pallets which have sadly crumbled when travelling.

Natasha Dennis by a long shot, followed by dior. I used to live becca but they went out of business.

Charlotte tilsbury is crap. Urban decay are ok but more style than substance. I’ve been meaning to try tarte so glad to see decent reviews on here.

This is my basic every day palette -

Nothing fancy, just colours that go with everything

My favourite palette of all is my Tati Beauty one. Such a shame that they'll be no more.

I’m 56 and so pale I’d look hideous now with eye stuff. Decades ago in the 80s I loved eye shadow but I’d never get away with it now.

I got a Natasha denona palette in an advent calendar and the colour payoff is just divine.

They have a baby gold palette with three highly usable colours for sale on the cult beauty website which is only £16 and worth trying.

I have some tarte palettes that I highly rate as if I had to have one it would either be the above or a tarte one.

Just wanted to update as I've been shopping and tried out what feels like 1000 different eyeshadow!

I ended up getting the Dior 1947 palette, it's has more pink shades but the lady on the counter put it on and talked through twice how to apply it and it looks so lovely and natural. They feel so creamy and buttery. I can't wait to try them out!

Also walked away with a Dior concealer and Estee Lauder foundation as mine had actually come off my nose and I looked like Rudoplh! I was given some lovely samples as well.

Was tempted last night to buy a Victoria Beckham bronzer and the Catch the Light highlighter stick as I was getting an eyeliner but I had to stop myself!

I’m older than you and wear eyeshadow.

Have a look at tutorials from this lady -

ignore the younique bit in her name she speaks about all make up brands and isn’t pushing an MLM.

I think the Clinique duos are good

Waiting for some offers

Lisa Eldridge ones look beautiful, though depends what you are after. They are mostly quite vibrant.

I adore my Tarte Tarteist Pro palette, I had a look but it’s not on Sephora, maybe it’s been discontinued. Second favourite would be Modern Renaissance by ABH.

MarshaMelrose · 04/02/2023 17:28

My favourites are Colourpop Stone Cold Fox and That's Taupe. However, I watch a few Beauty YouTubes and they all say that the Dior paletes are really fab - and so easy to work with. So good choice and I hope they give you tons of enjoyment.
