...and just have ONE really lovely one, what would it be?

I only ever wear brown/bronze tones and I'm on the lookout for a really good eyeshadow pallette with a mix of nudes and some shimmery ones (not full on glitter)

I have so many cheap palettes, most of them Makeup Revolution, that I never use that are gathering dust and I'd just like to treat myself to something that feels a bit more luxurious.

I've had the Naked palette before but to be honest I can't remember what the pigmentation was like or how long the shadows lasted.

Also if anyone has any recommendations for a good eye shadow primer and concealer for pale skin I'd appreciate it! I've never really used concealer but have switched to a lighter coverage foundation so it's definitely needed.

Eyeshadow primer I'm using at the moment is the MAC painterly paint pot but don't really rate it.

Charlotte tilbury do lovely quad pallets. Pricy but lovely!

knobblyribs · 02/02/2023 23:04

But my favourite ever, quality wise was a Bobbi Brown set. I still use it to this day and bought it years ago. The quality of the shadows is just incomparable to anything I've ever used before.

For primer I like urban decay potion primer
Concealer depends whether under eye or spots!
For spots I use Kevyn aucoin sensual skin enhancer with a tiny brush to pin point concealer, it lasts forever
For under eyes I usually correct with a peach colour corrector, for concealer I like revolution conceal and hydrate or tarte creaseless

This looks like what I think you'd like!

Definitely under eye 😂 I don't get too many spots but it looks like I haven't slept for a week!!

I'd suggest looking at the Tropic make up palette. You can completely customise it and can just replace the colour you need when it runs out, no having to chuck the rest away or buy another palette just for that one colour!

B Perfect The Vivienne

I have loads from natasha denoa to revolution. My favourite eye shadows by far have been urban decay and revlon. Revlon do dupes of the charlotte tilbury ones. I no longer use powder eyeshadow, just eye crayons and have kiko and charlotte tilbury.

flyingdino · 02/02/2023 23:46

I have the Tom Ford quad colour and carry it with me and even if I get my make up done professionally, I still hand this mini pallet for the mua to use. It goes with every occasion from weddings to party's to a quiet dinner.

@flyingdino oh that is gorgeous! Is it the Golden Mink color palette?

MrsKippling · 03/02/2023 06:04

Probably this Plouise one.

Or this

They're the only ones I use these days.

PAFMO · 03/02/2023 06:13

I don't use palettes anymore either as I like creams and sticks...BUT...I'd probably go for a Givenchy prism palette. Still the best in terms of staying power and pigment as far as high end goes imo. (that said Revlon colour stay palettes are fabulous) DD had a By Terry palette which was gorgeous as well. Bobbi Brown are great but do tend to break up easily (I've had a palette and a Powder smash to bits) Charlotte Tilbury are all too glittery for me.

FredaFox · 03/02/2023 06:27

My favourite eye shadows are Tom ford and pat mgrath. All great pigment, also got a great one by nars,
I've got a Natasha deacon that I had in my advent calendar but not used it properly yet but seems ok

I got rid of all my old pallets like revolution after trying the high end ones.

plumduck · 03/02/2023 06:36

Pat Mcgrath Divine Rose 1.

*If you choose this one wait for a sale - there's always a sale around the corner

Stone Cold Fox by Colourpop. Its a largish palette. Two smaller ones, with just nine colours are That's Taupe and Going Coconuts.

HippoInABadWig · 03/02/2023 06:57

Any Tom Ford, Pat McGrath or Natasha Denona, although be wary of fallout on the Denonas.

Or Naked palettes in colourways that suit me.

milkyaqua · 03/02/2023 06:59

Christian Dior 5 Couleurs. Beautiful texture and they last for decades.

Stoechas · 03/02/2023 07:25

My sister, who is quite the fancy pants when it comes to fashion and makeup in our family felt compelled to create a mini-intervention in Boots with the Bobbi Brown counter lady when they discovered that I didn’t own this palette.
Like not owning nine little discs of colour to paint on your face was akin to discovering I ate with my hands or I washed my hair by standing out in the rain with some fairy liquid.

I was duly shamed and harangued into buying it with the promise that I would level-up into genteel and academic eye lid society.

It makes my eyes look nice I suppose. Kind of disappointed that apart from that no further radical life improving events have come off the back of it.

Having tried most brands, cheap and expensive I've ended up thinking No7 is a really good brand - they do have a neutral palette.

@Q2C4 it's called Arabesque. You can find it on Harvey Nichols and 10% off your first order. I love it, the texture is amazing too.

Itsfridaynightok · 03/02/2023 09:12

Anastasia Beverly Hills ones are amazing!
