What to wear.

We're hosting a house party in a few weeks time, probably about 15 people. I just don't know what to wear. I'll be cooking (I'll pre prepare so just heating up really) and serving hot and cold buffet but still want to look like the polished hostess rather than a sweaty cook in my jeans and slippers 🤣. Any suggestions? Px

Do you have a budget?
What is your height?
What is your usual size?
Do you prefer dresses to trousers or trousers to dresses?

I’d wear a dress and flat sandals in my own home, or a dress and polished toe nails! Just a simple day dress, try John Lewis And/Or for this type of thing or Boden

Would something like these work for you? (Have a look at the images where the model is wearing the complete outfit on the website, rather than just the garment that they are trying to sell)

I have the top in option 1 and a very similar dress to option 5! Some nice ideas there.
@LookItsMeAgain I'm a size 10, 5'6" and would be happy to spend about £50! Px

Then my advice changes to either buy a decent bottle of something (perfume or wine/champagne) or buy yourself a nice little handbag with the £50 you will have saved because you have something already and just put your feet up and enjoy a glass of wine wearing the lovely top in Option 1 or the similar dress in Option 5!
