Can't decide if I like this jacket or if it is truly awful.

Help! I've ordered this jacket from Boden. I think I like it but part of me thinks it's hideous. Gah! I just can't decide and would love someone else's opinion. Technically, I know I should hate it, all those insulting it are completely right. However I think I actually feel it’s fabulous, even though logically I know it’s terrible.

if I bought it, I know I’d be really happy when I wore it, even though I also know everyone would think it was hideous (including dh who would offer his usual comment when he clearly hates something I’ve bought - “is that… fashionable now?”)

I think it's awful. It's ok from the back but my god what is the weird green panelling! It's as though uv had a tear or something and used bits of another jacket to form a new style!

My rule is that if I'm unsure, I don't buy it. I haven't always done this and built up a wardrobe of things that I wasn't wearing. I personally don't like it.

This is a rule I now work to as well and both my wardrobe and bank balance are improved as a result Smile

and yeah, its a Frankensteins mess of a garment. It looks like someone had heard of coats, but never actually seen one IRL. (like those medieval pictures of a giraffe)

Not very Borg-y is it? How disappointing.
Do The Borg wear outerwear? Do they need outerwear?
The Borg queen had a kind of frock on didn’t she, so maybe she had a coat hung up somewhere for when she took her Borg dog out for a walk?

I always think with coats you need to love it as they are an investment piece.
