Explain bodies to me

The lingerie kind not the human kind.

Why do people wear them? What are they for?

If hidden under clothes they are just a bit annoying as harder to go to the loo, or are they supposed to smooth everything out like shapewear?

Are they supposed to be sexy like a basque? But then they are a pain to take off and less 'easy access' and no suspender attachments.

Are they for wearing instead of a top? I can kind of see this but a bra plus sheer top seems to make more sense.

Basically I'm confused. I just tried one on but it did not help me understand.

I'm not talking about when you have a normal plain top with poppers underneath which clearly is helpful to stay tucked into jeans.

I think they are supposed to give a smoother line, yes. They are also a nice warm under layer. I am tall and busty though, so can never find one that actually fits me.

Anyone actually wear them?

I personally think they are supposed to be sexy and worn when you would be planning for someone to see it.

I have worn a few pre kids, they looked good on a slim toned body. Wouldn't wear one now though.

The recent come back has seen them worn as a top - a very close fitting top, which you will never quite achieve with something you have to tuck in. But i think there is deffo an implied sexiness to it as well.

I’ve worn the lingerie ones as tops when going on- offset with mum jeans and clompy boots

In terms of using them as underwear, I imagine it’s just a nice aesthetic for foreplay before it actually gets pulled off?

Cinnamonandcoal · 01/02/2023 20:20

Hmmm ok, I can see that outfit looking good (although a bit obscene on me as I have massive boobs). But yes on other people.
I wouldn't wear one for bedroom purposes as they basically look like a swimsuit to me - bra and pants and other things sexier!

I wear them and love them. They are easier to put on than a bra for starters, far more comfortable and definitely warmer. I'm a 32F and find bras to fit a real pain and not remotely comfortable. They do smooth lines out too. Not sure I'd consider them sexy, I like stockings and lacy bras for that. I bought these from Bravissimo, they are definitely made for longer bodies. Really hold you in too without feeling suffocated. www.bravissimo.com/products/millie-body-ln820/#black-ln820blk

That is good to know spuddel I think I will try one. I always wear a vest over a bra when it is colder as I am a chilly person. A body might be simpler, if I can get one long enough.

spuddel · 02/02/2023 07:26

@SirVixofVixHall I really do rate those Bravissimo ones for the longer of body! Treat yourself, you won't regret it.

I bought a gorgeous Myla one. Still waiting for a nice man so that I can wear it. Can’t be arsed wearing it on a normal day as it has no poppers and so seems like a faff when needing to pee. Beautiful but if no practical use.

Enko · 02/02/2023 13:38

I wear them and no they don't make going to the toilet a faff. It's just a couple of poppers/buttons
