I have a little passion for taking photos of sakura each spring, so if you ladies want to see, I can share some of the sakura photos I'll (hopefully) take this year like the ones I attached here. 🫣 The first photo is my absolute favorite btw. 🤍 These two shots were taken back in 2020, when hanami parties were discouraged, normally you'd see TONS of people picnicking under the trees.
I do prefer the pink kawazu sakura more though than the mainstream white one, and here's a link to one of the videos from a famous kawazu sakura spot in Shizuoka, I was putting it on the TV the other day while WFH. Don't know if anybody would be interested in watching it, but here goes!

I love that white blouse @HorribleHisTories15

toucaninjapan · 01/03/2023 22:17

@Netcam it sounds so cool, all these places you've traveled to! I bet you have so many interesting stories to tell.
It's lovely to hear that you are still in touch with your friend in Japan after all these years, I hope you see each other again in the future. 🤍

HorribleHisTories15 · 02/03/2023 01:16

Thank you for the shirt and trouser love.

I'm quite partial to a stripy top @EllaPaella , not only does yours look delicious, you looked ready to slay whilst teaching. I hope that those students paid attention! Those boots are incredible.

Loving that leopard print skirt @Cardigansalltheway . Does the length restrict walking, or is there a slit? Do you remember Morticia Adams from the Adams family? She used to walk quite restricted due to her dress, I'm a bit hesitant to buy ankle length in case I end up walking like her.

Love that skirt @Puddinandpie . Looks versatile and cool. Double plus that it is cord. Can never have enough cord in the wardrobe.

Greyhairwarmheart · 02/03/2023 07:11

Amazing photos @toucaninjapan . I would love to visit one day. Sorry to hear about your difficulties @toucaninjapan and @Puddinandpie . In similar situations to your mum's visit i try to think 'why am I letting that person get into my head?'. It's hard though when you are in the midst of it. Yesterday top debenhams, skirt M&S.

@Netcam I like your use of pinks and purple together
@bendmeoverbackwards love the skirt
@Cardigansalltheway looove that outfit 😍
@OublietteBravo fab shirt
@HorribleHisTories15 I'm loving the wrap cardi and skinnies, and I know what you mean I keep putting slightly more lighter items on in the hope I won't be cold (too optimistic) then realise I'm freezing my arse off and have too add another what feels like 10 layers, even my eldest dc looks at me like "you should know better mum" 🤣

Puddinandpie · 02/03/2023 10:59

@toucaninjapan all your pics look so amazing
@Greyhairwarmheart your absolutely right, it's so hard though, she already bombarded me with messages last night testing to see if I'd bite, but I'm trying to ignore it! Love that top by the way
@OublietteBravo well thats obsurd, why aren't they getting it fixed? Well you look fab, whilst freezing 🥶 😏

Puddinandpie · 02/03/2023 11:02

Thanks for the outfit love @Rollerbird

takemebacktothe1990s · 02/03/2023 11:26

Hi everyone, I've been lurking on the last few threads on and off and loving the looks!

I've been wanting to join in for a while but I've come to realise that the vast majority of my clothes are really cheap in quality and price Blush so I've been a bit embarrassed, especially when I see some of the brands mentioned!

So I may post some photos but leave out the retailer! I know I sound weird saying that 😂😂

takemebacktothe1990s · 02/03/2023 11:33

Also, I really wish there was a "like" button for this thread! So many times I see an outfit and go to hit the (non existent) button Grin

Cardigansalltheway · 02/03/2023 11:39

@takemebacktothe1990s there is absolutely no sniffiness re brands, please don’t worry about that, if you look carefully you’ll see that many of us have a range of budgets, and many also buy second hand from Vinted, EBay etc. But we’d be delighted if you could join us, please post whatever you feel comfortable with, if that means leaving out the brands that’s fine, and we especially love to see photos!

PS love your username, the nineties were ace 😁.

Cardigansalltheway · 02/03/2023 12:07

@HorribleHisTories15 yesterday's skirt is in fact a wrap style so a huge slit. It's not really made for winter and is a v thin, unlined cotton, so it's a task preserving my modesty on a windy day🤣.

Jumper: H&M
Trousers: Zara
Trainers: Adidas

Fell off the boards for a few days thanks to the madness that currently is the Scottish public sector, lol. Got the dress and jacket from Wolf and Badger, different designers. Ignore the Ugg slippers, lol. I did put boots on before I left - from Dube, with Jaguar bag

Cardigansalltheway

Thank you! I've definitely never ever seen any sniffiness on this board, it's such a lovely and friendly place!

Yes I'll be joining in, I've decided Grin currently in the hairdressers (which I find quite a chore! I'm not one of these people who enjoy the experience!) So will consider posting when I'm home!

I work from home and have an active dog who needs regular long walks....so I'm afraid I'm most often found in "comfies". I don't think I'll be an inspiration to anyone but I'm looking forward to joining in!!

Puddinandpie · 02/03/2023 14:53

@takemebacktothe1990s defo join in, I shop wherever I like the look of something, it doesnt matter about price or brand, lots of my items are from super cheap places, (i defo love a bargain, its my kryptonite, that and shoes and handbags🤭) it's just great to see how people put items together! 😊

Speaking of handbags, that bag and those shoes I'm utterly envious @Purplecatshopaholic 😍

It might look warm and sunny, but I'm not taking any chances, I'm still cold!
Coat- karen millen
Dress- new look
Boots- asos

Can I just say @Puddinandpie, it’s not a jaguar bag, lol - thanks autocorrect! Think I might have meant Jaeger! And boots are Dune….

Puddinandpie · 02/03/2023 16:58

@Purplecatshopaholic Lol😂 I very nearly typed in jaguar bags, I'dve been looking for sometime! Is the jaeger bag recent? It's just lush

Sooverthemill · 02/03/2023 17:28

@takemebacktothe1990s do join in, don't forget we are all at different life stages and incomes on here. Some of us do thrift and preloved and a bit of high street, supermarket and high end. It's a real mix and what we care about it how you wear it not how much it cost, I think the brands are given in case people are interested. I am in my 60s and have paid off my mortgage and sue my carers allowance ( from caring for my now adult daughter) as my clothes slush fund and I sold nearly all my clothes a few years ago to start again. I recognise I am very lucky in that respect.

takemebacktothe1990s · 02/03/2023 17:57

Thank you everyone for the welcome, you're all lovely! I definitely let my anxiety get the better of me and can generally overthink (as always!).

And yes to everyone being at different life stages and different incomes etc! This was a very true point so thank you for reminding me @sooverthemill I grew up working class but comfortable then our family became quite poor when I hit my early teen years so second hand clothes (of varying sizes and condition) became my new normal. Which was difficult at that awkward life stage and the comments from peers.

Saying that, attitudes to preloved clothing has changed dramatically over the year....thank goodness! I feel the hangover effect though in my early 40s when I've had money and I've found myself looking for the bargains and feel a huge amount of guilt spending money on myself!

Anyway!

Jeans - Asda George
Jumper - ASOS (I think)
Trainers - Shein

I made a bit of an effort today for the hairdresser! Grin

Oh and @Sooverthemill tell me more about selling all of your clothes! I'm so interested....where did you sell? Online? And how long did it take?

Massive respect to you for that as it sounds like a mammoth task! I've tried selling on eBay in the past but get overwhelmed with posting, deadlines and feeling under pressure. (I have diagnosed adhd! But manage to hold down a fairly professional job. It's a funny old condition Smile).
