Size 22/24 (but going down!), 5ft 11 mum of 4, who works for herself so can wear anything!

Today I wore a black cotton midi dress (think it's Boohoo), with my disgusting but oh so comfortable pale pink UGG slippers.

Quite the pairing!!

Didn't have to go out today because kids had a TT day but I would have wore black converse style pumps and a pale green teddy bear fleece style coat.

I'm very busy these days, hopefully from April, after the nursery move, I'll finally have more opportunities to dress up!
I'm wearing a H&M cotton dress today with Sezane's cardigan and belt. DD was demanding this morning that I make her wear my dress lol!
All the shops over here started selling sakura everything (sakura cosmetics, sakura accessories, sakura drinks, sakura cups, sakura toothpaste, sakura pasta, you name it), and I've made my own effort to honor this particular tradition of celebrating the spring with a sakura hand towel and a sakura wallet (DH's last year's birthday present).

I’ve worked out why these jeans feel odd, they have elastane in them. I don’t own another pair of jeans ( and I have very many pairs) with stretch!

I can imagine, gearing up to the Hanami. Where are you in Japan? A very long time ago, in an old life pre kids (1998-2000), I taught English in Hamamatsu-shi, Shizuoka-ken.

You always look very stylish, but agree, it is hard to keep warm enough without ending up with loads of layers and feeling rather chunky! Not that you ever look it in your photos.

Interested in hearing about the trousers, I would love something like that in a muted green, haven't been able to find anything quite right.

@Serenitespring It's from shein they've got lots of different colours too, I'm thinking about getting it in lilac, orange and watermelon too (can never have too many cardis😉) I've already got the green one also

Today I am teaching to a professional audience so hope the outfit is appropriate- I only wear uniform at work but am doing a lot more non clinical days recently so may need to smarten up my very casual wardrobe somewhat.

Coat - Calvin Klein from a charity shop

Wearing exactly the same again today, 4th day on a row, but I am warm and comfy and my Engel wool/silk roll neck still doesn't smell!

Anyhow shein is really easy to order from and depending on how much you order you might get some voucher codes also, I ordered medium in the cardis as they are quite oversized and I'm quite a chunky bird size 12/14/16 for reference 🤣
It takes about 2 weeks to come sometimes 1 and a half weeks if it something that someone has sent back because it doesn't fit them it will be coming from their UK sight so could literally take 2/3 days that's how long my cardi took to come so it varies but its worth the wait anyhow, hope that helps 😊

You strawberry shoes are fabulous. The kind of thing I would love to wear, but wouldn't because I would probably injure myself and my problematic feet. But stylewise, I love funky patterned shoes. I think the closest I will ever get to funky patterned shoes are my Wolky rio sandals which I have in 3 different colours/patterns.

I've been very much procrastinating today, I just feel very, very stressed, I've been trying to figure out what to wear next week for dh's hospital app, and yes i know that sounds ridiculous but it's because I have my mum up to look after my dc while we are there, as we don't have anyone else to help (I haven't seen her in a long, loooong time)
And to put it bluntly she is very mean, she'll stare as if to say "hmmm my my haven't you put on weight" and then there's the little comments like "oh I bought a top the other day it's nice and baggy it'd fit you perfectly because it's loose" or "what size are you now, is that skirt elasticated" among other nasty little comments and looks and it's really hard to bite my tongue, because if I say anything to her she gets soooo defensive and makes out I'm the one with the problem! It also doesn't help that she's generally a crap person! She'll be OK with my dc which of course is the main thing, but that's because she knows I'd take her head off otherwise🤣
I know it sounds ridiculous, but it's chipping away at my confidence, which is what she was like when I lived at home, among other things!
Sorry for ranting, I feel a bit better now😁

Just for the record you have a great figure- most people would give their right arm to look like you. Mothers can be very difficult sometimes, relationships can be so complex and hard work. I'm sure whatever you decide to wear you will look lovely and no doubt she'll have a comment no matter what. Try not to let it get to you xxx
