You’re welcome @Puddinandpie!
@evtheria that outfit sounds chic. I love olive green and I’m told it loves me.😆

HorribleHisTories15 · 26/02/2023 22:53

Your outfits sound lovely @Niftythrifter and @evtheria . Welcome @evtheria , hope that you had a lovely time celebrating your DH's birthday .
Really like your outfit today @Cardigansalltheway . Skirts really suit you.
Totally agree @Puddinandpie , not over washing items can really preserve the colours and fibres, plus it is environmentally friendlier to reduce washing. I use Febreeze on items like jumpers and jeans. I actually quite like the scent of Febreeze. I try and hang up close body items like long sleeve tops and shirts once having sprayed them, and then try and incorporate them again into an outfit later on in the week @Netcam .

Netcam · 26/02/2023 22:55

@Puddinandpie It doesn't sound gross at all. I have just washed that long green cardigan for the first time and I have worn it pretty much daily since I got it about 2 months ago. I wear base layer tops/t-shirts for 3 or 4 days, but I only wear wool or silk ones so they're fine.

It's more where you put everything that has been worn. I hang my worn clothes out until they are due a wash as I don't want to put them back in the drawer/wardrobe.

So I tend to have maybe 2 outfits on the go at once, a kind of indoors clean one and and outdoors dirty one that can get muddy etc.

And then after a week I wash most of it apart from something like outdoor walking trousers or an outer layer like my green cardigan, which last for weeks without a wash.

But it means I end up wearing the same 2 outfits for a week. If I had more variety I'd have too many things hanging around the bedroom waiting to be worn again, which we really don't have space for.

Netcam · 26/02/2023 23:03

Thanks @HorribleHisTories15, I guess incorporating something into a different outfit is a good idea, maybe to mix and match a few things so I don't wear exactly the same thing for the whole week. Actually thinking about it I probably do that more in the summer when clothes are less bulky, I might have some leggings, shorts and a dress or skirt that I wear with 2 or 3 different tops throughout the week, depending on the weather and what I'm doing. But that doesn't create a huge amount of washing with summer clothes.

Sooverthemill · 27/02/2023 09:43

Thank you @OublietteBravo when I put it on I did think of you!

I wash everything as infrequently as possible. Jumpers rarely, jeans about every 30 wears ( spot clean and white jeans are about 10 wears). I hang up to air with windows open each morning and I have a laundress spray that 'refreshes' knitwear ( and other stuff). I've always kept washing to a minimum. Obviously if I spill my dinner then stuff gets washed but I don't get smelly or sweaty ( I am assured by others)

EllaPaella · 27/02/2023 10:07

I hardly ever wash any of my real wool/cashmere jumpers. I'm still upset over shrinking my favourite navy Toast jumper by washing it (on a hand wash cycle) - I bloody loved that jumper.

EllaPaella · 27/02/2023 10:08

Everyone looks lovely. Will contribute soon. Wondering if any of you have ever ordered from Everlane? I ordered a pair of trousers but very unsure over sizing.

Netcam · 27/02/2023 13:41

Those are really nice, love the look of the olive ones.

Sooverthemill · 27/02/2023 13:57

I ordered these and returned only because the fabric was too thick for what I wanted . I loved them though and really regretted it! I had size 4 for my usual size 8( have messaged you)

Cardigansalltheway · 27/02/2023 14:34

Thanks @HorribleHisTories15, I do love skirts, only recently started wearing them and haven't looked back!

Practical jeans (Boden) and shetland wool jumper (Benetton) with merino base layer top and leggings underneath for going out this morning. Back home now and changed into same warm, comfy stretchy clothes from weekend.
