Roots Between Appointments

Hi all. I am trying to go four weeks between having my grey roots done at the hairdressers.

I'm between appointments I have tried:
Josh Wood blending brush
Colour Wow powder
Colour sprays

I'm not a huge fan of any of these especially the spray which made my hair sticky.

I have also tried dying my roots myself with the Clairol root thing but even the medium brown made my roots look too dark

Has anyone found anything else that covers grey roots?

I find the L'Oréal spray is the best of a bad bunch tbh. There is a decent shade selection and it lasts til next wash.
