Sheet Masks

What's the point of the sheet in a sheet mask. Would covering my face in my usual serum do the same job?

Yes, basically, though the gel/liquid is usually thicker and there's more of it than you'd put on normally.
But fundamentally, yes. The actual mask bit is just to hold the gunk on your face!

Thank you! I might just use serum and a flannel

Also depends on the properties/ingredients of your serum and that of the face mask. Lets say your serum is for targeting wrinkles but the face mask is for helping with dark spots, obviously they're not trying to do the same thing. Also you would need a lot more serum so if its expensive, you might not want to lather it on. I love sheet masks (ones that work for my skin) but piling on serum would feel too much for me.
